I Can Set My Tensor Tympani Off by Rubbing My Eye

I can make set my tensor tympani off by rubbing my eye, this only occurs on the left side of my face. Anyone else experience this? I'm not bothered by it but just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks!

Exact same thing happens to me. If I rub my eye it makes that Tensor Tympani reflex or rumble happen in my ear. If I get something in my eye causing it to water and cry and shut it also triggers the same thing. I think the nerves or whatever are connected between the two probably.

If I gently touch/caress my cheek (only the right one), my Tensor Tympani is also triggered, just the same as when I hear certain sounds (cutlery...)

I've always been able to make my left ear rumble by scratching my head. Oh and voluntarily contracting the muscles (both ears rumbling).
