Well this is odd, I've come downstairs to a room on my own...

I was just lying in bed unable to sleep & couldn’t really hear my tinnitus.

Then thought where the hell is it, it weirded me out... I had to get up, I can hear it but it’s changed.

How the hell can that freak me out, I've been listening to it my whole life wishing it to go away, but the moment it does I was in a bit of like panic trying to find it thinking no way.

I can hear it now, I’m still a bit spaced out by it.

Has anyone else done CBT & TRT?? Is this the way it goes...

      Kind of strange.

TRT/CBT is built around habituation not anything curative. so no.

Yeah mine goes away completely (100%) around 2am to 5am. Can't hear it in complete silence. It always comes back at 6 and I can hear it build up. Been like that for years :(

I’ve been taking curcumin on and off for a long time - to try and reduce inflammation -and thus help my joint pain.

In my case, it didn’t do anything for my tinnitus. However, we are all unique and our T can be a symptom of many different problems. There’s no harm in trying it.

      @Marc 1974

I am going to give you some advice whether you want to take it is your choice but I hope you do. I have had TRT twice so am familiar with the treatment. It is not a good idea for you or anyone that is on this treatment or CBT to be posting in forums at every little change in their tinnitus. In-fact it would best not visit them at all but if you do, try to not to mention you are having TRT.

Some people are very negative towards TRT and their comments might make you question the treatment and think isn't working. It requires time and lots of patience. You really are not helping yourself constantly posting about TRT or changes in your tinnitus. Just try and relax and engage in other things in your life that hopefully will take your attention away from the tinnitus.

Another thing. Avoid quiet rooms and surroundings especially at night by using sound enrichment. Listening to your tinnitus in a quiet room as you have mentioned, is not a good idea as your brain will focus on it more.

      All the best
      Michael

I wonder if its because of your Cortisol levels since Cortisol does affect T. Cortisol drops in the evening and fires back up in the morning.

I would add to this that my high ESR levels came down (in between two blood tests) back into the normal range. Whether this can be attributed to me taking curcumin is anyone’s guess.

Yes that’s perfectly good advice, my audiologists said the same & also my CBT therapist, I kind of like posting here so I can help others sometimes but maybe yes I should be a bit selfish and about me until I’m done... & yes I will do so...

TRT is the same thing as making yourself crazy and when you finally lose your sense of reality enough to accept how it is gonna to be from now on and lose enough money on this, then you feel cured.

You are not being selfish, just giving yourself the best chance of making a good recovery with TRT which is possible. Please ignore comments from the doofus because they are borne out of jealousy, for one reason or another. He has been placed on ignore, for disrespect and will find plenty company there.

I wish you the best of luck and please let me know how things are going by PM.

It must have been great to have that feeling, even if only for a moment.

Is that you riding the Motor Bike? What kind of hearing protection do you use and does the motor bike affect the t?

Curcumin has been linked to reducing noise induced damage after noise exposure as well as damage done by ototoxicity. You should look into taking is as a supplement again.

I still take it. I looked into many supplements for tinnitus over 3 years ago. I tried many, but nothing worked for me. I still take NAC and magnesium, and occasionally take some other supplements (one of which at the moment is curcumin, coincidentally).

      Things I’ve tried include:

      NAC
      Magnesium Bisglycinate
      Zinc
      Curcumin (with black pepper extract)
      Vitamin B12, and B6
      Vitamin D
      Taurine
      5-HTP
      Melatonin
      Omega 3, 6, and 9
      St John’s Wort
      Gingko Biloba
      Lipoflavonoids

I’m sure I’m forgetting some things here. This was all during my desperate days when I was climbing the walls.
