Isn't it wonderful that we can come here and learn about Tinnitus and how to cope? And learn about lifestyle changes, medicine or maneuvers that actually make us feel better? And there are people here so much smarter than me that explain this stuff and make me wonder what kind of relief is possible. And isn't it great that Tinnitus isn't an airborne disease? Or that we don't live in the old days? Or that we're not deaf? Those are my thoughts tonight - just tryin' to be supportive.

Hi IWLM:

Yes.
Yes.
Yes (and there are so many people smarter than me here).
Yes.
Oh, and definitely yes! (As I have posted before, imagine being Darwin, tossed on stormy seas as you head to places unexplored... accompanied by your never ceasing tinnitus).

And yes. While I have tinnitus, within the past 48 hours I have heard: a cardinal chirping in my tree. My co-workers laughing at a party. A wonderful chamber orchestra playing Brahms. The wind in my palm trees. Thunder. My husband saying he loved me. All of these things I would not have heard if I was deaf. My heart goes out to those who are suffering degenerative hearing loss and I am grateful, so far, this has not happened to me. Tinnitus has taught me that I have taken my auditory system, and my ability to hear clearly, for granted my whole life. No more.
