      Hello everyone

I am just writing for some support / advice

I have struggled with tinnitus for almost 3 years now when it first happened it was horrible.

Over time it has gotten better , but it fluctuates all the time.

It is okay some months and some months I feel like I just want to die.
      I have experienced it ALL.
Crickets, TV, electrical sound ... you name it but it always goes down to its white noise TV sound which doesn't bother me.

2 months ago I started having nocturnal anxiety which would be wake me up in the middle of sleep.
Fast heart beat and sense of doom.
One night I woke up to a rumbling that ends into a beat (over and over again).

EVER SINCE THEN it stayed. It drives me crazy at night I can hear it getting faster and faster and slowing down / disappearing just to start again ... it's a vicious cycle. Some days better than others but it's THERE.

It's in my entire HEAD - not in my ears.
I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE.

I went to the doctor but she was not interested in this problem.
I have to mention I had seen 3 ENTs in the past.

I am waiting to do an MRI which will take at least 5-6 months.

Is this ever gonna go away? I can live with my tinnitus but if it's in my whole head I don't know if I can do this.

@sara Do you have a off and on pattern of clenching your teeth? If so, this could be the problem.

Are you able to mask this noise that's consuming your head?
I hear my tinnitus in my head too, it's all consuming, especially in silence.

      @sara,
      Stay strong and don't give
up hope as their is help and finding what works for you.
Have a read up about Temperomandibular problems as clenching your teeth at night can put pressure on your jaw joint thats by your middle ear and spike tinnitus.
Could be down to anxiety and stress.
I had tinnitus in my head last year and my doctor put me on a low dose of Nortryptaline and my head tinnitus stopped as was due to miss firing signals.
      Love glynis

I am able to mask it but I don’t do it at night time I am so afraid I am gonna get used to it. So all night I toss and turn. I wake up 5-6 times a night and I can hear it getting faster and faster.
Do you ever get a break from yours ? Like does it get louder some days? Lower other days ?

      Hello Glynis
      Thanks for your response
What does that miss firing signals means ?
The doctors in Vancouver Canada will do absolutely nothing about tinnitus. I will research about that
      Thanks

My tinnitus is mostly mild.... can get louder at night, but that has settled of late.
I am able to breathe through my tinnitus at night and shift my focus away from the noise.
I fall asleep most nights without masking. I don't ever purposely put myself in a quiet room and listen for my tinnitus. That's been key to my recovery.

Hai samantha. Sorry to message here in different thread. I tried to start conversation with you ,but couldn't. Do you remember stephanieLC whom you talked to earlier who ruptured her eardrum by falling on a toy?
