I have MRI tomorrow and I am afraid of the loudness and also the toxic metal called GADOLINIUM. Has anyone had an MRI with contrast?

I believe you are allowed to bring your own earplugs.

Bill, I am afraid of the contrast called Gadolinium, it is supposed to be toxic.

it might not be ototoxic but it can cause a whole bunch of health issues.

Did you ask your doctor why the MRI was ordered with contrast? When I did mine there was no contrast (it was to rule out an Acoustic Neuroma).

I have had eight MRIs in my life, all with contrast. No problems.

Pretty much every single thing in life has the potential to be toxic in some capacity, especially in very high doses. The contrast dose will be based on your weight, so it should be safe.

I had couple of MRIs, no problem at all. I don't know which contrast med they gave me, but i think that doctors all around the globe use some international standards (they do it for example when it comes to anesthesia) so there are high odds that i also get the Gadolinium.

Just wear good earplugs and you will be fine (mine was -37dB). And maybe in addition to that, some ear muffs (idk if you will be allowed to use them, but you can use ear plugs for sure)
