      Hi All

First post here but have been reading the forum on and off for some time now. I think i have had T for about 4 years now. I saw an ENT in December and had various tests done. I remember him saying my hearing is normal with a dip at 4k?

Generally i would say i can hear okay but certain films can be hard because of mumbling actors, I guess we all have that problem here?

My audiogram is below if anyone wants to intepret what it means because i don't really know myself.

It is so annoying. I would say i understand about 80 percent of dialogue, but then theres background noise/quick/mumbled speaking.

      Sam,

I'm a new member here and my audio test is almost a carbon copy of yours; except, my music is power equipment not an instrument I play.

I haven't noticed an issue with understanding the TV because I used to crank it up so loud. Now that I've got H I go easy on the volume and hit rewind more than I used to but I think about 10% of the dialog is spoken too fast or mumbled or not what we expect anyway.

Did your T come on suddenly or gradually build up? Can you trace it to one moment? Both ENT's I saw said mine was caused by my 30 years or using power equipment. I feel like I can trace it to one event but that's perhaps just what put me over the threshold. In the end no one really knows.

Has your T gone down in volume or annoyance since you got it?

      Thanks,

      New Guy

      Hi New guy

It was very gradual over the passed 3-4 years. I would say i have been to around 40+ comcerts before i started to notice this mild t i have. I am 29 now for reference and started going to comcerts from age 16+.

Interesting, my t is only in my right ear. Is yours both?

Any idea what “tympanogram is wide” means? I think it was a pressure test he did. My t ear always seems a bit full but i can releive it by pulling the lobe and popping my ear which releives it temporarily.
