Morning! I stumbled upon this forum while looking for something that could explain this "whooshing" that i've been experiencing. It's in my left ear only and notice that the sounds corresponds with my heart rate. When I press on the part on my neck on the same side as the noise, it stops completely. Sometimes I have to press it so i can hear someone talking to me. It's not constant but sometimes it's very loud. I have not gone to any doctors yet mostly because i'm afraid of what they will tell me. I know that is irresponsible of me. Where should I start? My PCP or an ENT? I hope to find some answers here and treatment options. Thanks

Welcome to the site.

From your description, it sounds like you have pulsatile tinnitus. Your best bet would be to go to an ENT to get a full, comprehensive evaluation, including a hearing test. Good luck!

Go to a doctor immediately. If you are eligible for Corticotherapy, it should work before 72h of the incident. I went too late (20 days), still did the procedure, and it didn't work.
