I was just thinking, that it would be great to have a poll where people can vote on which treatment or drug or therapy has helped them the most. There are a LOT of threads out here and well, it is very time consuming to go through all of them. And I have listed out some of the treatments. If there is another major treatment just comment and people can just like the comment to poll on it.

Thanks, @VaR. Hope more of you will take this poll. I am interested to see the results.

It also would be interesting what people have tried that HASN'T helped them.
I will say that three of the four things I checked - Neuromonics, acupuncture, benzo -- did not so much help me with the tinnitus itself (loudness) but more the anxiety that came with tinnitus. I would say Neuromonics (which I am not quite done with) helped me with perception somewhat.

NAC was the one thing that seemed to somewhat quiet my T when it was at max volume. I do not take it daily, save it for emergencies.

Another thing I think should be added to this list, what probably helped me more than anything: cognitive behavioral therapy. It didn't make my tinnitus go away but sure does help me cope until better treatments come along.

Clonazepam helped the anxiety which softened the perception of the volume which is as good as it gets BUT as I try and taper down from 3 months of use (7 months w Bad T ) it's a wee bit fucking noisy in here. However, time heals all wounds and I am not looking for bridges to jump off of.
When I hike and exercise I feel better and T takes a back seat.
Also my masking apps help a bit.

VaR ,hope on the day your sitting exam ,your be on a good day ,and pass it with flying colours .
One thing I notice when mines really high. I sit in comfy chair ,have 40 winks and hey like magic it will often drop the T down ,to where you cope better give it a try see if it works for you .
Good luck for next week .

I only voted on 'Working out' and 'none' because I've not been very adventurous. Exercise does in general improve my mood, though as far as I'm aware with tinnitus, my T would only improve because my mood did. I don't know :p

The NHS did have me undergo TRT a few years ago but I think that was for the hyperacusis. In which case I'm unsure if it helped or not, given that time can heal these things too ^^.

Thank you Marlene for the wishes. The week ahead seems like an uphill battle. Also, I hope most of the members here see this thread and put in their experiences.

I'm 22 Marlene and I want to go for my masters soon. Hence, giving the GRE next week and well a couple more exams. And T was unexpected and no, it doesn't discriminate. It was bearable for a while but I'm having a spike now. It's the worst time for the spike.

      I go with @Gio Makyo
Time is second to all my medications. Medications help me stay above ground longer and 'Time' helps habituate.
