Protection at Symphony

We're taking our little budding musician to the symphony this weekend. Any ideas on whether or not I should use something to protect my ears (or in my case ear? I don't want to wear some weird headphones and look like a freak though.

Just take some discreet earplugs with you , you can probably find some see-through ones for cheap , better to be safer than sorry !

Depends how much protection you want , you ca n go all out for musicians ear plugs, but they are very expensive , or you can buy cheaper ones , I'm not sure where you are from, but in the uk I use these :
