So I have been at work for the last 3 hours. I work in a library. When I left for work tinnitus was calm. Library was very quiet today but I had ear plugs in because last few weeks my ears have been spiking over random noises.

Anyway I have just gotten home and my tinnitus has gone up a lot. It feels like I've been standing next to a speaker in my left ear and I don't understand how this has happened? It is so loud, the loudest I've ever heard it. I am in full on panic mode which I understand makes things worse but how can one's ear get that loud from quiet?

I am heading to see the doctor in a few hours for a B12 injection to see if that helps calm things down but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Does anyone know what could have spiked this?

Wearing earplugs and ear protection for a long while makes me spike. Basically, depriving the ears of too much sound. Since the library was quiet it was really unnecessary.

Had the exact same thing happen to me and yeah, the spike was loud.

Single 25 mg dose of (anticholinergic) drug Promethazine
Smart meters, and other various wifi and EMF emitting devices can all spike tinnitus without having any kind of accompanying sound.

Did your spike go down? Its never done it before. Normally im in a loud library hence why i wear them. Maybe i need to stop idk. My ears have just been so reactive lately to everything, maybe this is why.

Yeah, it did. I have reactivity too. Definitely makes things weird.

How long have you had reactive t. Mind never used to be reactive til recently which is proving really hard for me right now. It just seems to be constantly getting worse no matter what i do to protect it.

I've always had reactive T. Though, I don't think it is as reactive as some other people's. I have time periods where it's more or less.

mine is reactive and it will spike wearing ear plugs within the first minute every time. if I take the ear plugs out it takes at minimum an hour to return to base line.
