Situation to Avoid (Dell Technical Support)

There are occasional posts on noises, environments, etc. to avoid due to our tinnitus. I want to suggest a situation to avoid.

Do not call ever Dell Technical Support or your tinnitus will skyrocket. By the time I got transferred from one support tech to the next that cannot speak English my tinnitus was over the top.

Actually that was proof that stress aggravates this condition and causes a spike.

Here's another suggestion:

Whenever calling ANYBODY, hold phone away from ear until you know for sure the answering machine or actual person you're calling is not speaking in a volume that's too loud.

Use speaker phone. Save your ears. Person with normal ears can deal with yout hollow voice better than you can handle spikes.

I think he meant that he experienced a language barrier, not volume or noise.
