I was working in my shop (garage) cutting some wood for a project and when I removed the earplug from my right ear it felt as if there was something still in the ear like it was plugged.

Soon thereafter the hissing started and although the ear doesn't seem to be plugged anymore the hissing continues and the hearing from that ear is diminished.

There is a possibility you may have perforated your ear drum when yanking the ear plug out thus causing the hearing loss and tinnitus.

You should get to an ENT asap...
