Hello!

Can someone explain why I have sudden (loud motor running) in my ears and loss of hearing please??

I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis in December. I took a one time prescribed high dose of Prednisone family plus antibiotics for 10 days. On Wednesday I was back to see my family doctor who said I still had dried blood in my ear canal but did not do anything.

And now tonight, Saturday, it feels like I have a loud motor running or helicopter in my ears and feels like I have hearing loss! Going truly insane with the noise and my family says I'm telling!

Someone please help!

Sudden hearing loss is an emergency. Go see a doctor at your earliest convenience.

I would have gone already but we are in the middle of a winter storm. Hardly slept because of the noises in my ear and it is still very sore to the touch and loss of hearing. I will be going as soon as weather is clear which unfortunately for me might not be until tomorrow or Tuesday.

Isn't there an ER you can go to?
