Do it very slowly. 5% reduction pr. 14 days to a month.
Faster than that, you may regret it.

Very slowly. I've struggled to come off this medication. I am virtually there now. Your GP should be able to advise you but sometimes they don't realise the side effects. I was on 15mg and they said just stop but this is not a good idea for most people.
I am not a doctor but my approach would be to drop down to 7.5mg (half a tablet) and then a quarter and then a quarter every other day and so forth. Listen to your body and only reduce when you feel stable. You can also get liquid form which is easier to reduce more gradually.
If you were given these for depression, then you should tell your doctor you want to stop them. It can be dangerous to come off ADs if you are depressed.
I have taken it primarily for sleep. After about 5 years I have got down to a quarter about once or twice a week. Been so hard to stop as insomnia bad and T goes crazy after a few days of stopping, even on this extremely low dose.

I would have a chat with your doctor but if you have trouble sleeping with tinnitus a low AD dose is better than sleeping tablets.
I would see your doctor to come off about 5mg over two reductions and stay on 10mg for 3months...
see if your sleeping well and feeling ok then do the same.
A slow but sure taper will give you time to see how you feel before the next...my own opinion but get your doctor on board always.

I've read about Mirtazapine here on Tinnitus Talk. Its effect seems to vary from person to person.
I've read that it IS ototoxic which, as far as I understand, is NOT good with tinnitus.

I have my unopened box here beside me and don't really know what to think. I've read positive stories about it, and some NOT so positive stories. I'm not really sure if I should even try them. I'm for the most part negative about taking medications/pills unless i absolutely MUST.

First time I went to a doctor (a regular one, not a specialist / ENT) I got Zopiclone (Imovane) for sleeping and Hydroxyzine for relaxation/anti-anxiety).

I checked a list to see if these drugs are ototoxic, but according to the below list, they´re not:

I do'nt really know what to do at the moment.

I am on the same boat when it comes to ADs, maybe not Mirtazapine. If you read the stories, as you have, it's a mixed bag with a few having some relief, a lot of people saying otherwise. It ultimately comes down to your psychological well being and anxiety-if they're off the roof and/or making life difficult it maybe be worth trying. The medication remain constant but each people bodies are different. I also think these meds work better with people whose tinnitus is not induced by acoustic trauma. Let us know what you decide too do and how it works.

My decision is this: I'm gonna pass, at least for tonight, I've never taken ADs and to be honest, I'm afraid of taking them.
I'm going to stick with my Zopiclones and Ataraxes for now.

Read the above posts... there are answers there. Google Mirtazapine taper. Talk to your doctor. You have only been on 2 weeks so dragging out your taper is probably not a good idea. Be strong. Embrace exercise and anything holistic... hot baths, sauna.
