      Hi
I believe my tinnitus is still in acute stage..roughly in about 1-2months.. one ear especially loud during the night times..
My ent gave me medications to increase the blood flow ...
      Gingko Biloba 60 Mg+Piracetam 800 Mg+Vinpocetine 5 tablet
I started to notice the buzzing in the ear only about 2 weeks ago...
Please any advice is most welcome. ...

Vinpocetine and Gingko are good. Very good to take Gingko in the early stages. How did you get t ?

It is rather a loud hizzzzing than tonal...
As far as heart disease I am cleared of any issues. ..
Even stopped taking aspirin for a week now.. after that sensitivity to some noise reduced but still have the hizzzzing in my right ear

I see....your t is still in the very early stages and hopefully it will go away, just take very good care of your ears, stay away from loud noises, and eat very healthy, avoid soda, caffeine, salt etc.

Stay away from aspirin, it is ototoxic which means it damages the hearing. Try to see if you can join an am101 trial near you, I don`t know if they do them in canada. Auris medical is performing these trials for people under the 3 month acute stage mark so you fit right in. They look for poeple with hearing loss from sound trauma or medicins so tell them about the aspirin if they ask you. We all know what is like to have T, atleast it seems we are coming a bit closer to a `cure` or relief in the next decade to say it safely. Best of luck!

It might aswell pass, there is no rule that it stays, every case is diffrent so hang in there.

Edit: you are in singapore. sorry misread your location, don`t know if they have am101 in Singapore.

I had no choice but to take aspirin as I had heart attack caused by blood clots...
I was advised to take aspirin daily indefinitely. ..to avoid another attack. ..
I came to my home in india after two weeks of my heart attack. ..so in india now on long leave from job..
If its not for this tinnitus I would be happy and back to my old self...

I am least worried about another attack now. ..I stopped taking plavix
Statin ppi aspirin. .. (done all test for heart and blood .. I am healther than i was 6 months ago..)
This buzzing is driving me crazy esp at night and when I wake up in the morning.. morning its very clear its my right ear which is screaming. And it subsides slowly to bearable level.. ..my ent says its nervous system weakness. ...
He is the one who nurtured me back to stable form when I had sinusitis and panic attacks after one month heartattack. .. . ...
I suspect ototoxicity or my reduced congicative behavior during past two months. ...
Honestly I could not even see straight. .. everything around me was jumpy. . Barley abled to see a computer monitor for more than 5 mins..had sensitivity to light. . Loud sound. . Oddly it was my left ear that was sensitive.. but now the noise is from right ear..
But now I am cycling/jogging upto 5-8 km in 25mins and riding my old motor bike. . Seeing clearly. .crowded places does not scare me. ..Going out into crowded and noisy place makes me forget the buzzing in my head. ..
Ent doctor gave me 15 days worth of
      Piracetam + Ginkgo biloba + Vinpocetine tables and xanax .5mg . .
( trying to replace xanax with pure clam for sleeping)

Will wait for a week or so to find someone specialized in tinnitus .
I am also looking into hboc and tinnex...and acupuncture. .its been so hard..

Had my 3rd acupuncture session today. .
I spoke to the acupuncture doctor he said I am young and ur symptoms are very weak... dont need to worry u will be cured.. I would not touch u if thought I can't help u..

Today I woke up 4 in morning the noise was bit loud. . I took half of .25mg xanax I.e., 0.125mg of xanax when I woke up the T was very faint..
      Not sure xanax is helping..
Yday night I took .25 mg xanax at around 8:40 before dinner..

Oddly enough when I go out the hizzing dissappears... maybe my anxiety is making the hizzing loud ??

Yes stress and anxiety does make the t louder. After a very long flight my t spiked quite
A bit. I bought a iPod and filled it with this sound :
      Tinnitus sound therapy 6 Hours

And when the t us very bothersome I listen to it low volume only, at nights I keep
The water sound on all night on my laptop.

First, your tinnitus is new. There is a good chance it will go away so don't freak out. Please. It will only make your noise louder. Your best chance for recovery is to try to minimize your noise--to reduce its impact on your brain. And also keep soft background noises on 24/7 to distract you as your ear tries to heal.

Second, tinnitus is often louder when you awake in the middle of the night or when you first get up. That doesn't mean anything. In fact, as long as you aren't taking aspirin or another ototoxic medication, you tinnitus may fluctuate quite a bit for no known reason. There's nothing you can do about this except to mask the noise. I had background noise on 24/7 for many months after I initially got tinnitus. I still keep something on 24/7. And, when I sleep, I found some water sounds that blend in with my tinnitus so it is less noticeable.

Third, are you able to meditate? There are YouTube videos on mindfulness, for example, that might help. But it does take time and practice before meditation helps. You might also ask the physician and the psychologists on this board to discuss strategies you can use to help you cope. You can also look up coping strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) on this board.

Fourth, I don't believe anyone will give you steroids one-to-two months after you develop tinnitus. By this time, there is not much the steroids can do. They are used in the acute phase only, and most doctors won't give them after a few weeks.

Finally, do tell you doctor about not getting enough sleep. I think sleep is one of the most important factors in recovery. When tired, you become stressed and your tinnitus is louder. This is true for everyone!

Good luck and keep us posted! I know you'll get better. Everyone does. But it takes time and developing good coping strategies to relax you and help you cope.:)

@jazz thank u for ur kind words..
Its just not been easy for me.. I just turned 30 this feb.. had a good life and carrier going on.. one good day I was lifting weights close to 300 pounds 3-4 times and that day night ended in icu.. only next day the doctor told me I had heart attack. .
But lucky I virtually had no damage. .
But my symptoms kept changing now ended up with this.. making my already stressful life even more..

I went to another ent this one supposed to my aunty (I never knew I had one who is an ent doctor.. big family long chain of relatives )..

She said its probably just etd.. ur nasal pathways are swollen and ear drums looks clean and good..
I guarantee u will be ok in 6 weeks. .
There are worst things in life u just have to "learn to live with it.."
I was like wht the fish did I hear. . "Learn to live with it."
Literally begged her to do all the tests.. she have me drops to clear the nose block and some antibiotics
      ....
I hope she is right. ... its just my eustachian tube.. 3 more days go visit her again..

probably next week i will go to special hearing aid center to do complete evaluations.... atleast if i know the exact reason of why T is caused i can work towards that direction.....
