I'm 15 years old and I have pretty bad tinnitus, I've had it for a few years now and with time it only gets worse. I haven't been to a doctor or anything because I just thought it was normal.
I think the reason why is because I listen to a lot of music (not on a high volume though), according to Spotify I've listened to 99,403 minutes of music in 2017.
Is there a treatment? Is this permanent?? Previously I thought it was normal but I've talked with friends and none of them have it and they told me it wasn't normal(for my age). Is there something I can do??? Like will it work if I stop listening to music/stop using headphones as much as I do??? Because as I've said, it doesn't go away and whenever it's quiet it only gets worse.
Have I ruined my hearing now??? If there's a treatment I'm pretty sure I'm too young and my family can't afford any of that at the moment.
