Hey,
I first noticed my Tinnitus many years ago. This seemed to be a short stint.
More recently I noticed a drastic increase in my tinnitus in one ear. I also had reoccurring nasal blockage. I went to the doctor and then onto the ENT. They did the usual hearing test, MRI with it being one ear only, and did a quick examination and then follow up appointment. On the hearing test they noticed a slight dip in my hearing in the ear affected by tinnitus. But in terms of support and help there was little on offer to me, other then general advice.
I spent months looking for the answer to WHY I had the tinnitus, and HOW I could deal with such matter. I think it's fair to say at times it really got the better of me as I felt at a loss with it. I felt as if my tinnitus was continuing to get louder, and felt at times like I was going deaf. I was anxious as a result of the situation which I am sure many of you will relate to. I got that desperate I paid for private CBT to try and change my thought process on such matter. I found my self constantly researching and trying to find the answers.
So more recently I started to use a nasal rinse named NEILMED sinus rinse. It's amazing, my tinnitus has decreased a significant degree, certainly less noticeable. My hearing seems to be better also. I also purchased a facial sauna, which I know sound mad but worked well with Olbas Oil.
So should anyone out there have similar symptoms then please try such approach. I know from experience it's difficult but stay positive.

The only thing that helps me when it's bad is Sudafed. Keep pushing your ENT, mine wouldn't believe me and said my tinnitus wasn't sinus related. They did a CT scan to 'reassure me' and found that my entire right side (my ringing ear) was absolutely full to the brim! On the waiting list for FESS now
