Tinnitus Joke for Acceptance / Overcoming

Hello,

Nothing serious but at the same time very serious if the task on a daily basis: allow yourself a lot of laugh every day and it is an excellent form of neutralizing -T frustration.
My theory is through humor come to acceptance and then we are ready to take steps to resolve the problem. Isn't that right?

• I just tried phoning the tinnitus helpline. They told me to leave a message after the tone.-Bastards!

• I went to see the doctor and said, "I've got a constant ringing in my ears."He said, "That's tinnitus, just try to ignore it."I replied, "I've tried ignoring it, but when I do they leave a message."
• I've just called the tinnitus helpline. It just kept ringing.

Another from the internet: Every time I'm at home I hear this awful whining in my ears that left me quite depressed. My doctor suggested I should avoid my wife for a while...

 

A bit masochistic but with an entrepreneurial note, one more:

• Why is all the tinnitus research focused on making it go away? I think we need new streams of research aimed at improving the tinnitus sounds, not making them disappear. Just imagine if you could go to your audiologist, and get a nice chord programmed into your brain? With enough advancements in tinnitus research, we might even be able to get whole rock concerts programmed in, and never need to attend one ever again! Just think of the convenience. That could also mark the fall of the iPod.

Oh my God is it as bad as it sounded in my head?

 

My habituated friend is a really bad at answering my phone calls. He says he never hears it ring, but I know that deep down, he just doesn't give a damn.

I played my bass for the first time since my T spike, and it didn't sound half bad. I'm now working on my next composition, Duet for Bass and Tea Kettle.

 

My tinnitus was so bad last the neighbors called noise control.

 

I don't have a joke. But, the second night I had tinnitus I heard what I knew to be a train coming through my wall. For a split second I panicked in natural reaction to such a phenomenon. Then, after that moment I realized how lame this Tinnitus thing could be. I live on the second floor, and nowhere near any trains.

 

I have my own theory about the cause of my T. Maybe its Aliens trying to contact me. I can hear the Signal but can't decifer the message

 

the thing is, if you poke around hard enough on the tinfoil-hat forums of the internet, you will find a not inconsiderable amount of people who seem to actually believe this

 

When my T used to wake me up by screaming loud like a hungry crying baby looking for milk from the mom, I used to tease it, "Hey T baby, be real, you get the wrong guy!" LOL

I like the jokes by David Letterman & William Shatner about their T.

Letterman said his 2-toned T (a low and a high) is like the Emergency Broadcast System on test mode 7/24 on him and while he is trying to entertain his audience. LOL.
Shatner said he knows he is in T trouble when he hears the ocean while he is in the desert.

Here is the video clip of the 1996 show if you haven't seen it. Don't take it seriously. They are trying to crack jokes while Shatner knows T is a serious issue because he was trying to lobby the Congress for some research funding. But having a sense of humor about T can help. I remember I had a good laugh when watching it first time. It helps me realize that T is livable, even worsening T (as they claimed their T were at the show), but as of today they are still sane and living a productive live. So I learn to relax a bit after watching this. Hope you feel that way too. Here it is:

You are most welcome Richard. I think this video gives us a sense that T is quite common with tens of millions of people having it, even among the celebrities. There is a long list of names if you google celebrities with tinnitus. So sometimes I like to post this video link to help people understand that they are not alone with T 7/24 and that they shouldn't give up on life just because they have T.

 

I called the tinnitus help line, but just got a busy signal!

 

When I called...it just kept ringing and ringing.
