Tweaker: From what I have read, I know you will acheive your goal. It takes a special person who weaves together words that touch our souls. Tinnitus has a way of making us get in touch with our emotions. We first feel sad and upset, get mad and even get intolerable, but as time passes we slowly gain strength back from our struggles.
Our trials with tinnitus can eventually make us stronger in our talents. There are some of us, who will always be reminded by our tinnitus, and the pains it put us through. Tweaker, you have a great gift for writing and maybe tinnitus, just a little, has hopefully made your talent for writing anew. Always remember, you have come from the shadows into the light, discovering more brilliance, than you have ever seen before.
Thank so much for sharing your poem! TinA#7oct

I agree, we absolutely need a dream or a goal to hold onto. There is always hope, Tweaker.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I surely need it as the old T is particularly obnoxious this evening. Tinnitus has certainly made me appreciate the good things in life a lot more. I never really noticed the birds singing before T. Now I deliberately listen to the birdsong as I walk through the country lanes. Such heavenly sound therapy. The good things in life mean so much more to me. We appreciate the sweet all the more, once we have tasted the bitter. We know purer joy, after we have weeped. T is horrible but some good must come from our suffering.

Tweaked, I agree. Sometimes tinnitus pulls the window shade down in front of us, so we can't see the beauty outside. It can be the thief in the night that robs our precious sleep, it can be the great magnifier of suffering and pain, and it can be the leech in our lives that slowly feeds away on our strength and our will. It is helpful to have distractions so tinnitus is less noticeable, because as you say, "There are so many beautiful and wonderful things that can distract us."

      When tinnitus is less noticeable

City noises, cars, buses, trains, and planes
Drinking tea while listening to the rain
Soft music filling the sweat air of Spring
Birds with many diverse songs they can sing
Looking at the clouds in the ski so blue
Walking the dog or the dog walking you
Getting out side and enjoying the day,
helps to take our anxiety away.

      Tweaker, thanks again TinA#7oct

If you can accomplish one little thing today
so you won’t have to do it tomorrow,
everyday can be a little better than the day before.

Tweaker, sorry I misspelled you name in my last post.

      Sweat Silence
Right at the waking moment, when my conscience slowly emerges from sleep
There's a wisp of silence.........just before my tinnitus sounds it's first beat
And in this flicker of time, I'm reminded what silence use to be
I reach in my mind to pull it back, but sadly now, I wake with T.

      Why can’t you understand me?

Why can’t you understand me? is it because tinnitus is something you cannot see, never felt before, or due to fact that the noise is in my mind, and bothers me all the time?
Your indifference makes it worse, I wish you could have sympathized at first, but I must look for compassion somewhere else.
I must seek out others who have tinnitus too, for they might understand what I’m going through.

      Rain
Rain pitter-patters off my window sill
A pleasant distraction to hear its song
It helps sometimes to calm my troubled mind

The song version of. You Come To Me Your Crying, Dedicated to all of those who suffer from tinnitus on this forum who have given me the inspiration to write.

You come to me, your crying
It’s the middle of the night
I take you in my arms
      And hold you very tight

You don’t have to say a word
      Because it’s alright with me
      Sometimes the loving comfort
To be held is all we need

You share with me your troubles
As I whipe away your tears
      The sleepless nights and heartache
Of the sadness and your fears

      You always seem to worry
And you barely seem to sleep
      But gather up the courage
To survive it through the week

And it pounds and it pounds all the time

As you struggle through the night

And it pounds and it pounds in your mind

Tinnitus is the thief, who steals away your sleep
This hardship with a beat, you rarely can defeat

      We talked into the morning
Till you drifted off to sleep
I asked the Lord to help you
Find the comfort that you need

      There is a quiet place
      Where tinnitus has no sound
A place that you can visit
In your silent dreams it’s found

And it pounds and it pounds all the time

As you struggle through the night

And it pounds and it pounds in your mind

Tinnitus is a thief , that steals away your sleep
This hardship with a beat, you seldom can defeat

      And early in the morning,
      As your conscience comes around
There is a wisp of silence.....
      Before the ringing sounds

Hey-hey-hey, these are some nice words.
I particularly like the last four lines.

Have you made this into a song? May we hear it somewhere? :3

Phendran, The music melody is completed, I just need to finish transcribing it for piano from Tab. I'm not a musician, singer, or writer. A wrench and screwdriver use to be my tools of the trade. I only started playing guitar to mask my tinnitus six years ago and I now write because of the Forum, which has been less than a year.
So I really appreciate your kind words and will work hard to complete what I have started. Some one once said
"Music from the heart, doesn't have to be perfect", I hope their right. Have a great weekend!!, TinA#7oct

      I know your heartbeat,
you will never be alone because
I walk on the path with you.

I will calm the voice soon,
there will always be a place,
where the eyes look at this new day.

      ( Pulsatile Tinnitus )

It’s like a whooshing sound inside your ear
And It’s constant so it never disappears
It’s like A whisper in the wind
Or A constant thud from within
It’s A daily struggle having to deal with such Pulsating
      Irritating
      Dominating
      Nauseating
      Devastating
      And such a frustrating sound
Test after test and still no result
When they ask if I’m okay
It’s beginning to feel like an insult
I sit in silence and begin to listen
I search for help from anyone who’s experienced this condition
I like to see the positive in a bad situation
So even though the doctors keep giving me false calculations
And due to covid-19 most of my appointments has been sent over to cancellations
I still find it bitter sweet
As I lay up at night and listen to my heart beat
Rather than laying around excepting defeat
At least it’s a sound that I am still alive
A sound of a young black woman
      Suffering. Yet surviving
      And she’s only 25
