Tinnitus Spiking/Worsened by ENT Examinations?

I guess you're right. I am still unsure if i should take teh prednisolone i was subscribed because i am afraid of side effects (mainly infections that might lead to the need for antibiotics)

 

I dont know honestly. I have never taken that and cant help you there.

That's an elaborate way to say "we don't know"

 

My Audiologist told me that I should have not done those tests, he said its likely I might have permanent loud T now. my ENT said there is no way that ECOG< CVEMP < CALORIC < ACOUSTIC REFLEX Can cause hearing damage, and that its all in my head.

 

When I talked about TT that I find the most complete place on tinnitus, they
laughed with debauchery and they said: you have to stop believing in this things.

The ENT at the hospital (where i went yesterday to get a prescription for steroids) said immediatly something like "oh, it's know that these tests can cause increase in T. She should have known that"
But you're right. Whats done is done. My big question is still if i should take steroids or not...

I wish i knew. Here in germany the estimated number of T sufferers is somewhere around 240.000. One should think that thats a sufficiently large number to really engage with that disease on a serious basis...turns out, they don't

 

Nurse: "We are going to perform a tympanometry test. It just measures the hearing in the middle ear. Little children are doing this and it won't hurt"
Me to the ENT afterwards: "I here everything dumb now after Tympanometry test"
ENT: "Oh, you shouldn't do Tympanometry test, when you have H"
Me: "But the nurse told me to do it"
ENT: "Then the nurse told you something WRONG".

Pretty much sums it up!

 

You should consult an attorney. That sounds like a medical fuckup.

 

Same here. My ENT said that Tinnitus happens less than we think it does, so much for that!

 

Many (most?) ENTs are a health hazard due to ignorance, arrogance and carelessness. To be used by people with T and/or H with extreme caution. Question everything, decline anything that is going to be loud or intrusive.

Imagine going to a mechanic to fix your car and they take a sledgehammer to the engine. This is how the average ENT treats ears. Then they tell you to go f yourself if you don’t like it.

 

Hi, I had 2 rounds of hearing and balance tests where they blow high bursts of air into both ears, and others as well. In all cases, I had temporary spikes to my t. However, I will never allow these tests again. The risks for nothing in return do not justify additional tests.
