Cause of Tinnitus
I have no idea. It slowly crept up on me.
Hello all. Mick 57 from Dublin IRL.

I'm just gonna have a little rant here. Sorry in advance.

"I'll set the tv to turn off in 60minutes. That's my nightly routine. It helps distract me from my tinnitus and more times than not I'm asleep before the tv.

I made a mistake one evening when the tinnitus had my attention. I got angry and slapped my ear. Big mistake! The tinnitus turned to a loud high-pitch. Luckily enough it settled down. Never again!
Generally, I'm quite tolerant in life, so maybe that state of mind helps me cope a little better. I've had tinnitus in my left ear for a few years. A few months back i got a higher pitch in my right ear.

I had a grommit placed in my right ear two days ago to have fluid removed. The tinnitus seems to have disappeared in that ear. I'll be back to see my surgeon in a couple of weeks. If she can explain why it's gone (hopefully forever) I'll post it here.

Welcome to the forum. No need to be sorry about ranting here. This is the place T sufferers can rant and others reading your rants will have empathy as most of them have gone through the same journey. Hope your T will continue to improve. Good luck. God bless.

You seem to be holding up, very well. Keep up the good routine......

Thanks for the comforting words billy48 and fishbone. It's good to have support. In the world of tinnitus, it's the only medicine. Thanks again.
