ic ic. Perhaps people who's T fades with time actually experience healing to an extent?I don't believe we can restore hair cell without medical intervention, but synapse nerve's seem like a different story. Is HEI pill just one powerful antioxidant?I'd really like if Justin De Moss would let us know what the window of their pill is for effective treatment.Knowing this would be a big blue as to how our nerver's can regenerate .I've yet to find anything on their website or any report's stating that their pill is effective in restoring synapse nerve's.Only thing I have found is that it "restore" damaged nerve's,so they are still their and just recover,so it may only have a small window after acoustic trauma.

My tinnitus is not noice induced but i do have hearing loss.
Do you think it would be better to eliminate sugar and reduce carbs intake ?

Ate fresh turmeric roots for the first time. I found it very satisfying

I did keto and intermittent fasting for months when I first got tinnitus (not for tinnitus but because I couldn’t lift weights or run). No effect now that I’m back to exercise and eating carbohydrates.

Doesn’t seem to work for me. I suspect the damage is just too bad. I’m going to try increasing the dose by another 1 pill daily.

I'm new to the supplement game. This is the first I've tried. Since two Sundays ago I started taking curcumin 4g/day in the form of 1g pills. 2 pills at lunch, 2 at dinner. Also doing 1g/day of NAC.

By the second morning I felt like it had a positive effect, though I'm not saying it has gotten rid of my tinnitus or even lowered the volume. But I think it has had gotten rid of the edge. Like it sort of spread it out a little more evenly so it doesn't pierce so hard. Especially noticeable while falling asleep. It's done enough to help me get to sleep that I'll continue taking this for the foreseeable future, though I'll admit it may be addressing a different, underlying element unrelated to tinnitus or that it just in general improves my sleep and thus has tamped the tinnitus. I want to keep taking it, but may try to stop just to test if it's the curcumin or if something else changed.

      4 week update.

i noticed better sleep on day 2, and felt like things were slightly improving for 2 weeks. any effect the curcumin and NAC had has leveled off and no change over the past 2 weeks. with that being said, i'm certain one or both is having an impact. it hasn't eliminated the tinnitus, but so much of the edge has been taken off. like it went from being distractingly debilitating most of the time, to now just being annoying. this has helped the most in going to bed, i just feel calmer and less annoyed by the T as a i fall sleep. and for these 4 weeks i've had many more nights where i sleep through the whole night. that used to happen 2 or 3 times a week. i just had 7 straight days wehre i didn't wake up in the middle of the night. so i think better sleep is helping keep the tinnitus calm. or perhaps it is treating an underlying condition that is then helping sleep which is helping tinnitus. not sure.

i'm positive it objectively lowered it, because i have "perfect pitch" with my right ear with the T. the tinnitus in this ear is tonal, and i can whistle a high Bflat because it matches my right ear tone perfectly. but i can only hear the right ear tone in a quiet room now, not during normal daily activity like before. i think the atonal, left ear hiss may have reduced some, too, but its still distracting 100% of the day. i have much worse HF hearing loss in my left ear, FWIW. left peaks out at -55dB, whereas the right doesn't go below -30dB.

Thanks for the update! I love it when people who do an experiment come back and give the results. I haven't had much luck with the Curcumin, but maybe I didn't take a big enough dose.

My tinnitus is due to hearing loss, but it fluctuates like crazy and I'm trying to find something that will just keep it at a tolerable level.

      I am too.

      Here's this:
"The Clinical Practice Guideline of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (2014) stated that clinicians should not recommend dietary supplements for the treatment of tinnitus."

For me, I take it at night with food and the effect starts the next day and usually lasts all day. I often take it in smaller doses throughout the next day but I have never really found that once I'm awake, and have elevated tinnitus, that taking it ever has any effect for the rest of the day. There is something, in my case, about sleep.

Well if there's one thing to take from this and all the other supplements which have completely failed me is that I am incredibly resistant to placebo effect.

Not sure if this is good or bad?

Glad that this has worked for some though!

Could people list what amounts/dosages you are taking of the curcumin and NAC?

I’m sure it’s listed somewhere but my tinnitus is especially bad today and archival work might do me in.

      Thanks in advance.

The second time I woke up after starting it (36 hrs from start), and really noticed it going to bed on that third day. It was as though when I laid down I was waiting for the torture to start, but it didn't. It was just ringing and annoying. That was 60 hrs in and I had taken 10 grams in that period. I felt no more increases in effectiveness after 2 weeks, but still continue to take it so any gains won't be lost. FWIW, this seems to have had a much bigger impact with my pure tonal tinnitus in my ear with better hearing. The hissing tinnitus in my worse ear may or may not have been affected. I can't tell.

Of note this past month since starting it, I've had the best sleep in over a year. >75% of the time I sleep through the night. This is also why I can't say for certain the curcumin had a direct effect on the tinnitus, or if it is helping something else that helps me sleep, which then helps the ringing.
      NAC: 1 gram at lunch.
Curcumin: 2 grams at lunch, 2 grams at dinner.

I don't seem to be getting any benefit, however i only tried it for three days taking 1000. Maybe I should up the dose. I'm taking the brand Longvida, which says it has 285x the bioavailability of other brands.

I wonder if you all have the same type of tinnitus? Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread so maybe all my questions have already been covered.
How much are you taking now and what brand? You must be bored of these questions.
What brand and amount do you take and when? Wish I could get results in 20 mins.
Please tell me what brands you take, when and what dose? How big an effect does it have?

Well, I don't think I will be taking curcumin again.

I tried taking 3 grams yesterday and it seemed to spike my tinnitus. Not 100% sure it was down to the curcumin, but I think it probably was. It seems to be back to normal now, i.e. horrible, but not as horrible. Feel like I should give it a few more days to see if I eventually get any benefit, but I just don't think I am one of the lucky ones, and I fear side effects and worsening symptoms.
