Do you have vision problems such as blurry vision related to tinnitus?

I have always had vision problems. No link to my hearing loss/tinnitus.

Yeah Visual snow is extremely linked to tinnitus. From what I understand, it's from faulty DCN fusiform cells that send false signals to other parts of the brain. Mainly the auditory cortex, but other areas like the occipital lobe, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, orbitofrontal cortex, and anterior cingulate cortex, and the precuneus and posterior cingulate cortex. Tinnitus gets WAY in there.

I have floaters and visual snow that I think not related to tinnitus.

I have improved my vision I believe from taking NAC and other antioxidants and supplements. Also improving my diet. Before T I quite often had blurry vision and even had reading glasses. No longer need them and have great vision.

But since T I do now have a big floater in one eye and little atom like things wizzing in my vision when looking at the sky (is this visual snow?) and occasional occular migraine.

The little atoms (if they're white) are actually white blood cells that are going through your veins in your eye that you can see, as bizarre as that sounds.

Yes, they are mostly white ones. But some seem to be like little bright orbs. What does it mean if I see white blood cells? Could it have anything to do with infection or that my pulse often throbs in my vision?

White blood cells are passing through your field of vision in your cornea. It's a very common problem. So common that more people have it than not. Although some people have it better/worse than others.

The bright orbs may be starbursts which are visual snow. I used to get those until I started using the Hacker vision Chrome extension.

What @threefirefour posted with VS. Plus vestibular damage can create complications when it comes to eye movement. Both very awful conditions. Still don’t understand why none of this knowledge is passed on to the public. Earphones are beyond toxic and nobody knows. Just don’t drink or do drugs and you’ll be fine... Am I right guys?

It's quite sad that for Tinnitus, habituation is deemed as success.

Interesting article though. I can relate to a lot of those things, except I no longer experience brain fog since using supplements.

I'm lucky to not have brain fog. I didn't know it could sometimes be fought with supplements.

Well I have no idea really. I know in the past I have unknowingly had vitamin deficiencies at times, such as vit C and D. I do think that it is mostly NAC that has improved my vision and clarity of mind. Because I am definitely sure that I do not get enough quality sleep to account for it.

I've had visual snow for as long as I can remember. I only found out that it wasn't normal after reading up on the causes of T. It surprised me that so many people experience them simultaneously, and it is my belief that a lot of people have it to a lesser degree, without ever noticing it. Some people I've asked actually mention noticing some film grain when really focusing on it. Maybe it is time for a large scale study on how all these seemingly vague conditions fit together so that you are no longer perceived as a mad man when telling your physician or a specialist about it..

Oh my.. I am so glad to have read this. If I look at a white wall I will start seeing these white dots. I went to My optician because I thought it could be a retina tear or something but she examined my eye and said everything is fine.

I got 3 medium-size floaters after the onset of Tinnitus. I don't know if it's caused by prednisone or excess of vitamin B12, or even from T itself. By the way yes, my sight isn't the same as before.

I have vision problems, but I don't think they are related to tinnitus or hearing loss. It's often easy to find a correlation between two phenomenons, but much harder to discern what causes what. So is it tinnitus causing vision problems, or vision problems causing tinnitus?... It's the classical chicken and the egg problem.

Its believed that both tinnitus and visual snow, eye floaters, etc are a result of thalamocortical dysrythmia.

      https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fneur.2015.00124/full

The dumbed down explanations is thalamocortical dysrhythmia is when your brain has an oscillation between low and high frequency waves, they sort of collide with each other in a way. When you're sleeping, your brain switches to low frequency, when you're awake, it switches to high frequency waves. The dysrhythmia occurs when not all of your neurons get the wake up call to switch from low frequency to high and some stay in a low frequency state. The reason for them not getting the signal in most of our cases is damage to the auditory periphery. The thalamus is believed to be responsible for sensory processing so that is why damaging your hearing can spill over into your vision.

I personally have experienced a worsening of eye floaters since getting Tinnitus.
