Wondering What We All Do for Our Work/Job/Living

After my recent post about the weekends we all had planned lets find out a bit more about what else we all do when not dealing or learning to cope with t so my post is 'what do we all do for a job work career etc'. I will start the ball rolling!!!

I work as an 'IT Support manager' we run a small help desk of techy whizz kids who help people with their computers and epos till operations. It's a chain of supermarkets in the uk I work for and I help people 'reboot' their systems it does fix a lot of IT issues ! What do you do?

I started my own business just over a year ago with 3 others, we do consultancy in environmental, waste management and health and safety. And we knock the odd petrol station down and decommission fuel tanks.

Not very exciting apart from the petrol station bit. And of course I'm also a part time musician and apprentice web developer.

I also work in IT, i'm an information systems architect at university, i have fun everyday with stuff like Linux, vmware, perl scripts, php webdevelopment, etc i love my job

i also do a lot of music on my free time which led, i guess, to the minor tinnitus i have

 

I work doing statistical analyses and programming for IP for a large transgenic seeds and chemical company. I have been thinking lately about going back to grad school for tinnitus research though!

I am employed as web developer/programmer too. I am focusing on design and development of custom tailored web applications, mostly written in PHP.

Hahahahaha very funny , I assure you that is me in the picture, a recent one at that probably 3 weeks old. A lot of people have the same reaction when they ask me what my job is, however I don't blame them I'm 5"2 tall (quite short) so I guess I do look funny driving around 800 tone dump trucks

I work as a bartender, we specialise in tequila, we have 120 different types. It's fun job and I work with a great bunch of people, i'm currently studying pathology. But my passions are music and roller derby!

I am an economic consultant, specializing in securities litigation. That's not really me in the picture; it's an outdated photo of my son.

 

He's a cute one - how outdated ? My kids are teenagers !! 15 and 12 yr old girls - it can be emotional at times !

 

I'm a structural engineer. I also write software for other structural engineers, which is a side business I've had for over 20 years.

I prefer designing buildings with architects, but that type of work has slowed down. Bridges are what usually pays the bills. I've done this so long, designing bridges is like making sandwiches at Subway.

My older daughter has switched her major to structural engineering. Can't say that I didn't warn her. It can be a really stressful job at times, and I have the grey hair to prove it. I've been trying to convince her to go into audiology, but without luck.

 

Computer programmer & have run my web design company for over 10 years. Think there are quite a few of us in here <- totally irrelevant icon just because I like it...

 

@Karl my niece is a structural engineer qualifies at Uni of Warwick a couple of years ago just a little late for when
I needed steel beam calculated lol !!

 

Outdated by about 7 years! My baby is now entering Grade 2!

My profession seems so boring compared to most of you. At the moment I am a home mum looking after two young boys. A four year old and a two year old. However before having my children I was a high school teacher. I taught Politics, Italian and English literature.

 

Hardest job in the world @Miss lavender you don't get any training but it is the most rewarding one too. My biggest achievement in life is my 2 girls

 

Yes, most certainly the hardest job in the world. Even though my two little ones drive me insane a lot of the time, I love them so very dearly. I would not trade anything in the world right now except the big T.
