I got honked on an alleyway for like 5 seconds by some douche. I had 27dB earplugs and X4A earmuffs on top. In theory I should be ok... Nov 19, 2021

It's even louder as of today... Again, no reason. No noise, no nothing. Can't tell exactly when it changed. I just wish it would stop.

@Bill Bauer I appreciate you taking the time to answer. It's always the same loudness. At best it's a bit quieter in the morning. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong to get spikes. My environment is as quiet as it can be.

3M knew they were defective. Company to pay $9 million after allegedly selling defective combat earplugs to US military. The Minnesota-based 3M Company allegedly sold their dual-ended Combat Arms Earplugs, Version 2, to the military without disclosing defects that decreased the actual effectiveness of the hearing protection the device offered.

You are not necessarily getting any actual damage. However, it sounds like you are getting T spikes. To promote your recovery, you might want to do what you can to avoid all of the noises that you know have the potential to give you a spike. You will need to do this for the next 0.5-2 years. After that you will likely heal and will not be bothered by those sounds.
