If only there were some way to shut out all this noise in my head. Oh wait there already is, it's called McCafferty's Bib. Mar 12, 2019

I just watched a YouTube video with the song. What IS "McCafferty's Bib", though?! Why would a bib shut off the noise in the wearer's head? Is it a slang word for a bullet?

When it's loud I can't remember the quiet times. When it's quiet I can' t remember the loud times.

There comes a time every afternoon where the ears ring louder than usual. This is the story of one such time. Welcome to tinnitustalk

My 2018 was defined by tinnitus. My 2019 will not.

I had to cover my walls with blankets, wear ear protection and ask my drummer to chill but I was able to jam with my friends with no spike.

Good way to look at it, live your life, just be reasonable with it. I feel the same way.

You can ignore reality, but you (Literally!) won't be able to ignore the consequences (T) of you ignoring reality. I guess some people need an ever-present reminder to not do dumb stuff.

I'd rather life a fulfilling life of tinnitus than be noise free and living in isolation, unable to do what I love. You're an introvert so it doesn't matter for you, but most of us aren't Mr. Bauer. Try to remember that.

Ringing... I like to do it to my towels to dry them out. I don't like my ears to do it to me.

Did you take the Augmentin? What was the dosage and for how many days? Did you have any issues w/ T taking it?

Offices should have the same rules as libraries. No talking, no music. To think otherwise is crazy.

@sirhand I agree that one shouldnt force others to listen to their music. I would never play music at my office desk if my co workers had something against it. Lucky for me, they don't .

If I could use headphones I would. But I have noise induced T and it is advised that one does not use them, even at low volume when you have noise induced T, because it can make the T worse. So I only have the option of listening to music through speakers now.

Mine was a head injury and jaw, so I kept using my headphones. Never bothered it. Even after the T went crazy I still use them. I quit for about 4 months because I thought the new loudness and spikes were due to them.

Makes no difference. Even the few quieter T periods I was using headphones. I just do like I always do and never listen to them too loud. I have a certain level that I never let them go over.
