only if you would do it (almost every) day for a long period of time aka abusing alcohol. alcohol is then known to be ototoxic but certainly not from drinking from time to time even if it's heavy drinking I would say.

Drinking alcohol while on benzos increases your risk of tolerance and given that benzos are already highly addictive I would highly suggest abstaining from drinking.

Hey Julia, for some people it seems that alcohol can spike, others experience the opposite. for me sugar, salt and msg spike my t as rocket. havent try alcohol... but i will. some people have had relief drinking wine. maybe you should try it!

A few alcoholic drinks and my tinnitus is gone. But as soon as the affect of the alcohol wears of its back. You can see how people with T can easily become addicted to alcohol. I do like a drink now and then but in moderation.

At first I avoided many things but mainly coffee and alcohol because I was afraid of spikes. But after a while the fear for spikes faded and I started drinking both again.

Alcohol relieves tinnitus for abit. At least for me. You should never go cold turkey with a severe addiction to alcohol. It can be deadly. Instead you should have slowly tampered off.

The only thing I can think about is it might have been that I was drinking alcohol ( a few beers) a few nights between the loud impact and when it started, including the night before, so myabe my ear was a bit altered and the alcohol didn't help anything.

Mick - I am also scared of noise now ! But I really think for you it could be drinking alcohol that's causing it . Perhaps try over the counter sleeping meds and skip alcohol for one week ?otc Benadryl 50 mg will knock you out ..try n see how it goes ..
