It Is Just Mind-Blowing That Science Has Yet to Cure Tinnitus

Tinnitus is damage to your hair cells in the inner or outer ear. In my opinion, and with the amount who suffer permanent T (in the millions) it is truly mind blowing that doctors and scientists cannot resolve a treatment to rejuvenate the inner ear nerve hair cells. How to Know if You Have Permanent Tinnitus

It's certainly a very odd condition/symptom which most people have no idea exists. It's also very odd that the human body with all of it's capability is unable to repair this part of it's body. Why humans cannot regenerate hair cells like birds is unfortunate.

How to Know if You Have Permanent Tinnitus

Hi Bwspot- the DPOAE test might not measure hearing loss directly however it will tell you at what frequencies your hair cells are absent. Absent hair cells, particular by notch dips on hearing graphs tend to signal Tinnitus. Best of luck with your further tests.

How to Know if You Have Permanent Tinnitus

How to Know if You Have Permanent Tinnitus

Thought i would share how to find out if you have permanent tinnitus or not. The first test is the typical pure tone audiogram up to 8000 htz that almost every ENT will perform. If that has substantial hearing loss greater than 20 DB at one of the frequencies then that is likely to be a red...

Traumatic Events (Head Injuries/Acoustic Shocks) Main Cause of Tinnitus

I don't believe one bit that going to a restaurant, bar, club or lounge has any long term impact in the formation of T. The decibel reading at the loudest of these establishments is usually mid 80's. The same might not be said for concerts. Or Head injuries that impact the cochlea. Or...

Only 10-12M of 350M Americans Have Chronic Tinnitus

If 50M Americans really had T that runs 24/7 then this message board would likely be one of the most popular forums in the world. You can easily poll around your community and ask 1:5 or 1:6 people if they have T. Odds are you'll find maybe 1:50 or 1:100.

Do You Think Tinnitus Will Be Curable In Our Lifetime?

don't think big money wasn't behind fighting iTunes and Youtube. Likely far more money than is behind fighting to keep cochlear implants and neuronomics. To think there's not a movement for a Tinnitus cure is nothing short of bad conspiracy.

Do You Think Tinnitus Will Be Curable In Our Lifetime?

What my argument goes back to is how is the scientific community certain T is tied to damaged hair cells? In most cases it's likely however in some it is not. Although 90% of chronic T is measured by hearing loss greater than- 20DB on a regular audiogram (up to 8k htz) there is still a small...
