Hey dummy, you should probably read up on history. The Democratic Party were the ones in the hoods with burning crosses, riding horses, and hanging Black people. Do better if you want to stay relevant while bashing the greatest president to ever hold office.

Wow, you Trumpers are damn uneducated (what a surprise, with FOX Spews on day and night). Most of us have enough sense not to engage very much with racists who have no ethical values. That comment about the Democrats starting the KKK is stupid, wrong, and ignorant. But your insanity is not my problem. We Democrats and right-thinking Americans just want out of this insane asylum called the U.S.A.

Wait until masked, armed gunmen come to your town and start pointing their guns at you. You think it cannot happen? Trump wants nothing more than to tear this country apart and possibly start another civil war. That will be your problem. I am off to Costa Rica, where it is peaceful and safe. This is not America anymore. It is just a very violent country run by insane, ignorant people at all levels of society. Best of luck with that.

In my wildest dreams, I never thought Team Red would sit back and let Uncle Sam openly seize the means of production or the intellectual property of private corporations. Talk about an Uno reverse card. How are they going to square this with conservative small-government ideology? 😁

Meanwhile, things continue to fall apart, separation-of-powers-wise, here in our consumerist democracy:

Trump tries to wrest spending power from Congress as government shutdown looms:
"The administration says it can cancel nearly $5 billion in international aid with or without approval from lawmakers under a little-tested theory called a "pocket rescission."

"The Republican chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Friday called the move an "attempt to undermine the law."

"The move risks complicating talks to avert a looming government shutdown deadline."

"Federal funding expires on Sept. 30, and without new spending laws, broad swaths of the government would shutter. Republicans control both chambers of Congress, but need support from Democrats in the Senate to pass new spending laws."
Guess we'll see if Speaker Johnson and our MAGA/GOP Senate can pull yet another rabbit out of a hat when it comes to our federal budget.

I also guess Mr. Trump is worried that they'll need Democratic votes in the Senate to roll over for him.

I imagine he sees that as even worse than a do-nothing Congress, which is probably why he's pressing ahead with his project to suspend the federal Constitution, along with all its pesky provisions designed to thwart despotism, as soon as possible.

You must have slept through history class in high school, if you even attended. Southern Democrats before 1965 became Southern Republicans. They were the Confederates left over from the Civil War. The Democratic Party had long and deep roots in the South. It wasn't just a political party, it was an institution that completely dominated Southern politics through kickbacks, political gangs, machine politics, and cartels.

A second Democratic Party developed in the North with an electoral base of Irish immigrants, Catholics, and working-class Americans.

Go back to school.

Trump is brokenhearted after seeing his significant other holding hands with someone else, as if they had gone to the prom and then posted pictures of themselves making out on Truth Social. No wonder dissed Donny flipped his lid. 😂

Your party thinks men can get pregnant and that transitioning children in elementary school, in secrecy behind their parents' backs, is acceptable. Oh, and let's not forget your DEI hire on the Supreme Court who cannot even define what a woman is. LOL. And I am the ignorant, insane racist? Um, okay!

Here's an idea: why don't you just cancel your membership on this site and move to another country, instead of crying about it and making empty threats?

Donald Trump is busy winning while fixing the downfall of the United States of America, which began in 2001 and gained real momentum under the "great black hope" (whom I voted for twice). He took it to the next level and ended up creating all of you who think "Orange Man Bad" is some kind of argument. LOL.

LOL… I used to be angry at the world too when I lived in my mommy's basement.

****ATTENTION****

If anyone reading that idiotic paragraph in the quote above by Alley Pussy Cat wants to know the true story and the actual facts about the Democratic Party, just copy and paste his, her, or their quoted lies into a Google search and let AI take care of the rest. You will almost instantly start laughing when the real facts begin to sink in, which are very different from what you are reading from rainbow person.

Image-wise, it looks like Trump has dropped a clanger. He imposes his 50% tariff on India, allegedly because they are buying Russian oil and gas. China then steps in to take up the slack and supports India with a favorable trade deal. Who wins, who loses? I suppose the market will tell.

China's big 80th end-of-WW2 celebration makes the United States look rather small, especially with the huge military parade showcasing hypersonic rockets, electronic weapons, and underwater drones. If I have read it correctly, it looks like China has "trumped" Trump's tariffs with its ban on rare earth exports—pardon the pun. North Korea supplying manpower and artillery may also tip the balance in the Russo-Ukrainian war, as both sides grind each other down.

And then there is Taiwan. In terms of growing rice, they cannot be beaten, but the real importance lies in semiconductor manufacturing. They seem to hold the number one position in the world. How long can that last? It would be in their best interest to maintain it for as long as possible, especially for security and financial reasons.

Recently, the UK, France, and Germany have been trying to cobble together a response to help Ukraine, with some success. But with Trump playing nice with Vladimir Putin, how will things play out? It is conceivable that by the time a Trump-Vance presidency has run its course, the old Soviet Union could be back and China may have taken Taiwan. If that happens, who ends up with Taiwan's technological know-how?

For my part, I hope Ukraine prevails and Taiwan keeps its independence, but the outlook is not encouraging.

China's population: 1.4 billion
India's population: slightly larger
Russia's population: 140 million
North Korea's population: about 30 million, if I recall correctly

Even economically, this is formidable. It does not seem like a smart move to push India into the other camp.

Instead of creating a society where everyone can thrive, right-wingers want to pick winners according to their preferences. What groups historically lose when they do not conform to white Christian dogma? 🤔

Trump's persistent idiocy has hugely diminished America's standing in world affairs

US president confuses anxiety and obsequiousness he produces in other world leaders with respect, and confuses bullying with diplomacy

Trump is getting a bit of a roasting in the European press. On a human level, one might understand their frustrations when the main man at the tiller, the "Atlas" who holds up the sky on his shoulders, becomes distracted or paralyzed by these unfortunate cases involving women who were allegedly molested back in the 1990s. Do you recall the drama of Monica and her stained dress, or was it her stained underwear?

It looks like one big disappointment, especially since the Ukrainians are fighting for their survival, while the Trumpian peace proposals seem to have helped only the Russians.

Yes, it is a lonely world for the Europeans, with the United States looking inward and preoccupied with itself. I hope the women find some resolution, if not closure.

I'm not disturbed at all that Trump is getting a roasting in the European press. They supported a total idiot, Kamala Harris, because it would have been to their advantage, at the expense of America and the American people, if she had won. The population of the E.U. is larger than that of the United States, yet we are expected to solve the problems between Ukraine and Russia, which is very difficult. European countries provide loans that require repayment with interest to Ukraine, using funds taken from seized Russian bank accounts, yet expect U.S. taxpayers to supply hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine, with no return, for its defense.

It's about time we had somebody in the White House who sees through all of this B.S.

Show me the data!

And I say that with some embarrassment, as I learned today that Trump is lambasting the Europeans—for what? For buying cheap Russian oil. No surprise there. My guess is it is probably the Hungarians or the Slovakians, since they are often eager to please Putin regardless of the horrors on the Ukrainian front.

There are two good reasons for America to say, "Well, let's just wait and see." One thing I have noticed about world events and geography is that the closer you are to where the event is taking place, the more seriously people take it. I was in Poland around 2013 and 2015, and I had the chance to meet both Ukrainians and Poles. The fear of the Russian monolith is in their bones.

I have to say that, largely because of Trump, the Europeans have begun supporting their own defense with about 5 percent of their GDP, except for Spain, which is farther away. Trump gets things right at times, but it often seems to happen by accident—like some cross between Oliver Hardy and Fred Flintstone.

He might even come out ahead in his tariff war, though the jury is still out on that one. It could turn into one big disaster for both the United States and the world. It might even mean a return to the 1930s.

Looks like the farmers got what they voted for. Bootstrap time.

Reminds me of a famous quote: "fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me... You can't get fooled again!"

Google European loans to Ukraine with frozen Russian assets. This is a very clever strategy, compared to Biden's multi-billion-dollar taxpayer giveaways, with no diplomatic attempts to end the conflict. Kamala would likely have done it the same way as Biden.

President Donald Trump said Friday he didn't know "anything" about what the New York Times reported was a classified 2019 SEAL Team 6 mission in North Korea in which unarmed North Korean civilians were killed during an aborted operation.

So this means either that Trump's dementia is in full swing or he is a liar. What shall you boys?

@Luman, ummm… I think the world is entering a dangerous stage right now, and from various angles. You can pick and choose which one feels the most immediate or the most dangerous.

Climate change? The hottest summer on record. I will never be a movie star now, Hollywood has burned out.

Security
Not just the Russo-Ukraine war and the repercussions of a possible Russian conquest. Xi has his eye on Taiwan and much of the ocean territory around the Philippines, Indonesia, and even Japan. He also wants Taiwan's high-tech semiconductor expertise.

India cozying up to China, Russia, and North Korea—and this is the world's largest democracy.

Some new virus cropping up, anyone?

The economy, stupid?

There are loads of things to worry about. It is a matter of some regret that Europe and America are distancing themselves instead of pulling together.

Trump is gutting all of our infrastructure. All of it. Our Defense Department will be left with a group of Trump sycophants in the driver's seat, while experienced generals are fired simply because someone does not like to be questioned.

It is confounding how diminished the US presence and influence in the world will become. Trump has driven China and India straight into Russia's open arms.

Our elected leader has snubbed every single ally we have, while a few dictatorships we were never close with received gift baskets. Our allies cannot trust us anymore. We will likely face twenty or more years as a pariah, if we are fortunate.

On the so-called positive side, we are about to draw down our troops. But why would any country want a US base on its soil now? We have proven we cannot be trusted. In ten years, our military might actually shrink to a size that can be justified.

Good job, Putin asset. And yet his defenders will continue to claim it is all part of some grand 4D chess strategy.

And just one more thing:

Quite a disgusting birthday card from one pedo to another. Isn't this the letter that Our Glorious Stable Genius insisted doesn't exist? The one he is suing the Wall Street Journal over?

It's beyond disgusting. What a disgrace. Fuck every single GOP member & Republican voter who supports this ghoul. It's almost incomprehensible how awful this is. They're the monsters in the closet we were warned about.

Ha! Quite amusing, but it is not enough to go on. By the looks of things, Donald seems to like big blonde women—there's Ivanka and his previous wife. I must confess that I also find big blonde women attractive, so I cannot cast the first stone.

In my view, the real question is: how could Donald have been Epstein's close friend for years and yet have had no idea about Epstein's preference for young girls? The lawyers will, of course, argue: prove that Donald knew about it before Epstein's first conviction. Well, I am sure Donald knew about it after that conviction.

It is easy to get bogged down in U.S. legal language. For instance, even if Prince Andrew slept with Virginia Giuffre in England in the 1980s, she was seventeen at the time, and the age of consent in England back then was sixteen. As for trafficking, that meant crossing a border or bringing someone across a border for the purpose of sex. That was strictly an American law at the time. But was it a county line, a state border, or an international border? Either way, it does not apply outside U.S. jurisdiction.

In the absence of a clear path to proof or conviction, what matters now is the court of public opinion. And Donald is the President.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

On a separate issue, China's big World War II anniversary celebration was a show of strength. It seems North Korea is assisting Russia in its war with manpower and artillery, while China is supporting it financially. Does China expect a payback from Russia if or when the People's Army seizes Taiwan and takes over TSMC with its chip-making expertise?

In contrast to Joe Biden, Donald Trump's assistance to Ukraine has been disappointing. He has been more helpful to Putin than to Ukraine. Will he expect the Europeans to join him in a confrontation with the Chinese, Russians, and North Koreans? And where will India stand?

Life becomes scary if you think too much. I just came back from a beautiful trip in the countryside, where we stopped at a small-town hotel for brunch. One lady in our group asked, "How much does bed and breakfast cost?" The answer was, "Sorry, we are full of Ukrainian refugees at the moment." No surprise there.

And this is just a walk in the park compared to what could happen if Ukraine collapses under the Russian onslaught.

This Epstein 50th birthday binder might be new, but Trump's relationship with Epstein, and their creepy, lecherous behavior around teenage girls has been well known publicly since before he was first elected.

Every single person who ever voted for him to be president did so knowing that there is enough "circumstantial evidence" that he is a pedo child rapist that a reasonable manager wouldn't hire him to be a fry cook at McDonald's.

What kind of an idiot do you have to be to actually believe the corrupt White House at this point? Oh, I know, cult idiots like @Luman and @Eddie Montgomery to name a few. I don't see them standing up for the Pedo-in-Chief for quite a while. Probably too busy gargling Trump's balls to remove the DNA evidence.

You have come to the point that hurling crude insults towards those with whom you disagree is your only argument.

I last posted in this thread five days ago.

There is no evidence that Trump has engaged in the behaviors that you accuse him of, so discussing it is pointless.

Trump has been doing an excellent job in his second term.

Trump supporters either have the same terrible personality traits he does, so they see no issues with him being who he is, or they are complacent, knowing his terrible personality traits and don't care enough to denounce him. I'm not sure which is worse.

(Or Trump apologizers do fuckin weird disingenuous mental gymnastics to justify why they are a Trump apologizer.)

The top left is the Epstein signature; the others are to various officials and others, as you can see in the link.

Trump Says It's Not His Signature. But Personal Letters Look Similar.
