Best Speakers for Music Production?

Hi everyone, I would like to know if this is the right forum to ask this question. I'm looking for a pair of speakers that are easy with my ears, as I'm unable to produce music properly (20 min in with music production I start feeling pain in my ears with my current speakers).

Do you know any pair of speakers that don't make hyperacusis worse, just to stop it in its tracks (I don't mind spending a lot of money but obviously I prefer not to pay around 10000€ for each speaker xd).

 

I'm afraid you're asking an impossible question. All speakers make sound. If your H reacts to sound, it'll react to any speaker. It's the sound that is the culprit, not the source that creates it.

You might want to look into speaker frequency response. It's possible that certain frequencies would affect your ears more than others. I can't say for sure, but it's something to consider. There are certain frequencies that you can't actually "hear", those are the really high and low frequencies in the spectrum. Even though you can't hear them, they would still cause ear fatigue after listening to them for some time, but yeah, best advice is to talk to an expert (not me lol). I used to be into audio engineering, but that was many years ago

 

Not sure what you are asking - the output of any speaker is driven by the main amplifier which depends on the frequency response, gain, impedance and volume setting. All speakers are "easy on the ears" if you have the volume turned down.

 

If it's any consolation l have a cinema room with jamo D600 speakers... They are THX rated and have an awesome sound. For my HI-FI , l have a pair of Rogers LS 7 which have poly prop caps all wired externally. Driven by a custom made set of mono valve amps...
Not played with any of it since the dreaded T came along.

 

I am also an Audiophile and use 300B valve/tube Amplification. Linn Sondek turntable, ProAc D28 speakers, Marantz SA11S3 CD player.

You are new to tinnitus give it time things will improve. Keep the volume on your HI-FI low and don't use headphones even at low volume. Please click on the links below and read my posts, that you might find helpful.

Your system looks well cool.. I remember the years of visiting hi fi shows as well as the private demos..
I had my system running over the weekend with amps warming up over an hour.. I first played Simple Minds Belfast Child.. Sounded lovely but was spoilt with the fear of wondering if my T is going to give me a kicking for doing this.. I lowered the volume to under the sweet spot somehow didn't feel the same. Then tried ZZ Top... Need you tonight on vinyl.. This was one of my late night classics.. Just couldn't cut it with the low volume.. I don't play with over high volumes but try and replicate the sound volume when it was recorded. Guess im destined to be listening to the carpenters along with Mary Black...ouch..
The system got turned off, that is until things have gotten a little more settled mentally. I will give it a few more weeks and sink a few beers and give it another try.. Will also buy a sound meter just to measure how loud it's all going as with a lot of systems loudness is only detected through distortion..

You need to give it much more time for your ears to start to feel better and make a full recovery. Please don't push it. I was unable to listen to my HI-FI for about 1 year. I am not saying this applies in your case as we are all different. Just be patient.

I have a second HI-FI system too that also uses a 300B amplifier, specially built Parallel Single-Ended with Marantz SA11S1 CD player and ClearAudio Emotion turntable. I use specialist Interconnect and speaker cables the size of a garden hose. Mains screened cables and power conditioners. Like you I power up my Tube Amps for 1 hour before doing serious listening. I just can't go back to "solid state" amplifiers because they just don't have the warmth and musicality of my 300B tubes. I am spoilt and loving it!

Give it time you will be able to return to listening to music.
