Desensitization Protocols

      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Loud gig/year of loud headphone usage.
      Read your post and I'm really feeling good about mine resolving now, less stress and all that, I guess what bothers me isn't the sound rather that it instils a sense of dread and hopelessness because it scared me so much in the beginning.
      Anyway what are these protocols? are they perhaps what I've read about people telling me I shouldn't wear earplugs unless its really loud so as to "train" my ears to not be sensitive any more?
      I'd google it but it's just going to end up on me reading some horror stories or something.

      There are a number of approaches to desensitization for hyperacusis, assuming hyperacusis is the cause of your sound sensitivity. Perhaps look into ordering a pink noise CD through The Hyperacusis Network and follow the instructions there.
