      Hello,

Two days ago I had experienced some aural fullness, a headache and some sensitivity to noise after a football game the night before.

After dealing with the minor ear ache/pain and sensitivity for two days I decided to try homeopathic ear drops that were designed for an earache. After putting them in for the rest of the night my ear seemed much fuller than it was before I tried the drops but the pain was a little better. The drops made me super sleepy and I went to bed.

After waking up this morning it seems like my sensitivity and my pain is better than yesterday but my ear still feels very full.

Is this a common symptom of ear drops or is something wrong? Some websites say homeopathic medicine sometimes gets worse before it gets better but I'm not sure if this is a good sign or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again
      Ryan B.

I have ear fullness in my right ear only, I got my ear pressure checked by an audiologist who said my ears were 100% normal, so I guess my TMJ is just putting pressure somewhere that is causing the ear fullness.

My acupuncturist told me to try those type of ear drops too but I havent had a chance to buy them, not sure if I will after reading this! I hope yours gets better

      Thanks for your responses,

Throughout the day today I noticed that it was fluctuating between mild pain and fullness to a lot of pain and fullness. I was driving to college about two hours ago and the stereo was at a very low volume and I got inside my building for my class and my ear started to become very ringy and full and painful. it’s still like that right now. Is this a ear infection or hearing loss/hyperacusis? I’m super worried and scared about it right now.

      thanks, Ryan b

      One more question...
How long could this ear fullness/pain last?

For some on this board, it can go on for years. For many others, shorter period of time. It really depends what is causing the aural fullness, the kind of aural fullness experienced following acoustic trauma is likely fairly different pathologically than aural fullness caused by ETD or something.

For me (acoustic trauma cause) it was well over a year before I saw any improvement in aural fullness that my most effected ear had. I actually had severe worsening in the first year. I do feel it has improved upwards of 20% as of just recent months though (the bad ear now feels less full/unbalanced compared to the other one).

      Thank you all for responding,

Just woke up this morning and my ear felt great before my shower. Now after taking my shower my ear got very full again and I had pain and my ringing increased.

      Hyperacusis?

I’ve had permanent ear fullness for years. The hearing aid helps.

      Hello All,

Thank you for all of your responses I really appreciate them. Today it seems that my ringing is down but my fullness and soreness/sensitivity is still there. My right nostril is also getting harder to breathe out of and i have another headache located on the front of my face and my temples. Also, after taking a shower this morning my fullness and ringing wasn’t as bad.
Could this be ETD? I was diagnosed with it about three months ago in my left ear but I don’t know if it’s that agin or not.
      Any thoughts?

      Thanks and God Bless,
      Ryan B

Could it be wax build up?Adding drops will increase fullness feeling as wax swells.

      Hello all,

Just got back from the ENT and he says my fullness is due to a back pressure air buildup from my ETs. he says i have a deviated septum and a contact point in my sinuses which is causing the pain and headaches. Also, my hearing test showed perfect hearing my right ear, so how could my tinnitus increase and my sensitivity to sound still there? Also, he performed microsuction without telling me he was gonna do it and now i’m worries it s gonna make my ears worse. I have to go for a CAT scan and i may have to go through surgery.

      Any thoughts?

To fix my deviated septum. Apparently the ENT says this is causing my fullness and pain because layer of my sinus muscles are causing contact point headaches and pain. And the air is getting pushed into my ears from the obstructed nasal cavity

The ear fullness after an acoustic trauma it's due to etd or Tensor Tympani muscle?

What to do??? Most ENT s dont know what to do...
