Hello forum, this is my first post. My name is Lee and I'm from Denmark and I've been going through an ear infection (which seems to be over, I'm on my last set of pills tomorrow). It started as a flu and an ear infection at the same time, and one day in bed I turned over and I heard a pop and my ear hurt. I went to the doctor the next day, and he told me the inside of my ear was very red and prescibed me with some penicillin (phenoxymethylpenicillinkalium). The pain in my ear has subsided now, but it feels as if my left ear is blocked sort of. I can hear through it fine, but it seems almost as if I have an earplug in it. Furthermore, I had a ringing sensation, which I was told is normal when you have an ear infection, however, the ringing sensasion has become worse and worse every single day and is causing me headaches. I'm going to attempt to get an appointment at an ear specialist tomorrow, but I'm rather anxious at the moment. Does anyone know why the tinnitus is becoming worse?

My doctor said it will disappear eventually, that it's very common that the individual gets tinnitus after an ear infection. It takes time (days to months to years) for it to disappear, but for young folk it usually disappears within a few weeks. Mine went away one morning and has been away ever since
