Something quite extraordinary happened today, my tinnitus was super quiet all day long, this is my quietest full day in well over a year.

I thought it was worth sharing as I've never had a full day of quiet tinnitus. The only other times I've experienced this kind of reduction was after a general anesthetic but it wore off after a few hours. This was completely random and I haven't done anything different.

I have two tones and the biggest reduction is in the static tone, it's normally extremely loud but for the full day was just a very soft hiss that I can only hear in a quiet room. I can normally hear it over most everyday noises so it's really incredible.

The other tone is an "eee" in my left ear only and it's around 70% quieter. This morning I would go as far to say a 90% reduction, by lunch time it had increased.

I'm trying to manage my expectations and am acutely aware how cruel this condition is, tomorrow it could very well be back to normal or even louder! But just the fact it can be this low has raised my spirits immensely.

For the first time in a long while I feel genuinely hopeful things may improve for me.

Great to hear. My tinnitus is new, developed on Feb. 7th. I'm into my 4th fairly quiet day. Saw my concussion Doctor last night and he was happy to hear that.

Great to hear @dellwas x I just spent the last 3 hours lying on my bed in complete silence just enjoying the peace. It was very special.

Most probably TMJD and neck issues that came with it.
This happened to me too after an INCREDIBLY AND INDESCRIBABLY loud tinnitus night which made me beg my boyfriend to kill me. I wonder what we did differently.

Awesome news Holly. If it can lower once it can lower again!

      @Melike

Every time t gets louder for me it gets quieter immediately after. Whether for a 10-15 minutest he tone gets harder then it softens or for a night the tone is harder then the next day it seems a little better. I haven't tried charting the variations but I've noticed the pattern as well.

Yep I'm very similar @Melike, only two nights ago I was woken by a new tone and was having a mini meltdown, this is the last thing I expected.

I've sat here for the last hour trying to think of anything different I've done for the last month and only two changes come to mind (I very much doubt these things have much to do with it but you never know...)

      1) I started eating a lot more calories after essentially starving myself for 12 months to lose weight for my wedding. I have gained back 4 kilos and am now in a healthy weight range for my height.

      2) For a full week (last week) I committed to doing this
20 Second Miracle Technique for Instant...
to clear my sinuses 3 times a day. I have tried this many times in the past and it has done nothing (sometimes I felt like it made my tinnitus worse) but never tried for a full week. No idea if it's related to my decrease but it's worth noting.

@Holly1987 -- My best guess is that it's the exercise--but that's only a guess of course. -- Mucho congratulations on your significant relief--may it last much, much, much longer (as in forever). :)

Great. Also check out Austin Goh, he has a number of beneficial exercises, particularily for eustachian tube disorder, also on youtube. I watch both he and Mandell, as well as others. Congrats by the way, I'm on my 6th. day of relative quiet. Actually, it disappeared totally for most of yesterday. This one is also beneficial.
