What is the suggested thing to do if suddenly you get a high pitched sound in your ear.

I suddenly find I do not like wearing my hearing aid, as there is a high pitched noise that has suddenly started at around 4.30pm. The ear seems to become sensitive to noise, so I have put my aid to another setting to get away from the usual setting. I had my usual 3 betahistamine's today. So am unsure why this has happened.

Anyone know what they usually do with "high pitched" tinnitus.

Do your hearing aids have a white noise setting ?
If you are in a quiet place and no sound to amplify then the white noise can help mask it.
Remember to set it below your tinnitus so your brain will push hard to pick up the lower masking sound and help your brain not to focus on the tinnitus sound and help your brain build up its own natural filter.....lots of love glynis
