I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

Hi, I am an engineer that was tortured for 3 years with severe tinnitus, fed up I made a device that made a sound similar to my tinnitus and play it on headphones at night and it stopped my tinnitus.

I began to give this sound away to help others.

Well first off, it's quite obvious that it was you that wrote the comment from "Brian Douglas". Secondly, a Google search using the keywords "Brian Douglas+tinnitus" turned up nothing, which is odd considering he's allegedly the moderator of a tinnitus board. Lastly, if what you were saying was true, I'm sure we would have heard of it by now.

Okay here is a literal story about what is going on with this thread, this is an Alternative treatment.

In a nutshell people have called him a fruitcake and "bizarre" He subscribes to radical theories that some cases of tinnitus are caused by Government technology hacking into our brains, as well as he believes that newer translations of the Bible are corrupted by evil forces and other oddball claims about Government agencies.

Not that it matters but I do not think Brian Douglas is part of this. Brian is a moderator of a FB group and does a good job maintaining it and is level headed.

I know he struggles greatly like us but promotes using a cocktail of Xanax and Gabapentin.

 

What was the point of that?

The OP made his account and posted his one and only post that he has a cure with no other information.

 

Still haven't heard of anyone having success with this ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT... or what ever you want to call it. Hey, if it helps, I'm in.

Unfortunately Brian Douglas print screen is true, he thinks this audio can be a cure... he's a moderator of the largest tinnitus support group on FB.

 

I get this all the time , people don't believe me, call me a scammer etc, I just keep giving my sound mix out for free (how is that a scam?)

 

@R. David Case -- It's unclear to me what your purpose or intent is. You left a fairly ambiguous message in your first post, and then gave a rather incomplete message in your second post. You forgot my home town was wiped off the map when they sprayed dioxin (a weapon of war fare on the town), google TIMES BEACH MO. I traced it to a Dept of defense lab, Time Mag did an article on it.

 

Free or not, sounds alone cannot truly retrain the brain to block out basic perception of tinnitus sounds, which is probably phantom limb syndrome of the auditory system. For many if not most of us, tinnitus is a result of damage to the cochlear hair cells from mechanical overstimulation.

Don't come here and make a claim that you can help us and then run away and only come back later to be a little defensive prick about all of the scrutiny that's been laid on your claim. There are some very intelligent users on this site that have zero tolerance for bullshit so if you're going to make such claims provide info.

What kind of engineer are you anyway? I have a master's in engineering technology. I have an undergrad degree in electronics engineering with a minor in biomed, and I've spent over a decade learning music and can program nasty wobbles with synthesizers blindfolded, so convince me, "engineer".

 

You are wrong. Here is a similar system as mine, but mine is more advanced because I only need headphones, and no electrodes.

thanks for showing your authenticity of being an engineer, but how does this relate to auditory neuroscience and otology? I'd go as far as saying your device poorly mimics Susan Shore's signal timing.


Explain the science behind it and how it adds up with Susan Shore's device as well as your own hypothesis of corrupt Government agencies playing a role.

 

You dont know me and are qualified to judge nothing, you have not spoke to any one I have cured, have not even heard my sound mix, you like every one else assumes this and assumes that. If you had good intentions you would find out the facts and then speak. I was tortured severely with Tinnitus for three years and I said to my self I am an engineer so why cant I make something similar to the tinnitus sounds to affect it or stop it. So I took two 555 oscillator chips and wired them in a way that has NEVER been done before, they fought each other for power and each out put was superimposed on the others power supply, It made the weirdest sounds. I recorded them and put it on koss ktx-pro1 headphones . It knocked out my tinnitus, I began to give the sound mix out and now I am up to 420 people reduced or eliminated their tinnitus.I am just trying to help others stop the torture.

I listened to part of your tape and it was very uncomfortable with high pitch screeching and electronic mechanical noises. It did not lower my tinnitus
