I'd be willing to bet that any reported long term effects of COVID-19 will also find an influx of research, and luckily (for us) tinnitus is one of them. The New York Times hasn't published an article related to tinnitus since 2015, however with the numerous reports of COVID-19 related tinnitus, they published this in March 2021:

While it doesn't discuss any real treatments (because I DO NOT consider CBT, mindfulness, etc. like the article and most other resources reference as actual treatments,) I do like to see tinnitus get more media attention due to COVID-19.
