Hello everyone! My name is Justin. I made an account a couple years ago but never did anything with it.
I don't remember exactly what year I got tinnitus. It was was before high school. I'm thinking around 2004. I was 12 then. I got it from going shooting at my grandpa's house without ear protection. I've had it for so long I don't have any expectation that it will go away by itself. I hope that auditory cortex stimulation will turn out to be a definitive cure for subjective tinnitus. I imagine tinnitus surgeries becoming as common as Lasik. I hope so.
My T recently got louder. It's always been a very high pitch and it's been there 24/7 since I got it. I heard one member refer to hers as a tea kettle screaming. I'd say that's a pretty apt description of mine as well. Anyway I guess I'm reading these boards looking at the positive ways which people are coping with their T.
Knowing that there are others out there that have it just as bad as me, and possibly worse, and yet still choose to live a fulfilling life, gives me hope. I'm about to go watch Loving Vincent in theaters. Cheers everyone!
