      Medication and hearing loss
Trust me, I understand. Mine is so bad I can hear it over everything. Except the shower. But when I was pregnant last time, it got so loud I could hear it over the shower. I went to work everyday, feeling tortured. My coworkers were so kind. My spouse was the best and tried everything to calm me down. It was rough. I'm only six weeks along and its bothering me more, seeming louder. Hopefully, it will lower a bit and give me a break. You have to push through. Find relief when you can, that's what I do every day.

I'm with @Bill Bauer - I live to travel and explore the world.

      My top 5:

      Travel (literally anywhere and everywhere)
      Mountain Climbing,
      Open water swimming,
      Hiking through forests,
      Van living,
      Old buildings,

Oh dear! My list is way too long -

      Food,
      Camp fires,
      Star gazing,
      Storm chasing,
      Surfing,
Urban exploring (especially abandoned mental hospitals)
      Cycling cross country,
      Washing in waterfalls,
      Waking up on the beach,
      Theater,
      History,
      People,
      Studying,

I'm extremely grateful to say that my life allows me to do all these things on a regular basis.

Although watching meteor showers has lost some of it's fun because its so quiet at 2am, and my tinnitus becomes much more noticeable. :-/

Great post! I actually would love to tour a few countries living in a van. Those vintage VW camper vans look great!

      @Juan

Van living is awesome! Though I'm constantly making improvements to the inside.

When I first lived in the van in Italy, it was only half done. No proper shower or heater - I lived like a tramp. :D

It was soooo cold when it hit November. I remember lying there thinking this is it! I'm going to die of hyperthermia haha... I survived, obviously.

VW campers look awesome, but way too small to live in full time.

You should definitely get a van!

      You in Spain?

Yeah, I am in Southern Spain. Here the weather is fantastic so van living must be easier! Some people come here with their vans and stay for a few days to kite surf.

      Soooo jealous! :)

I've been seriously thinking about getting a campervan. I've seen a second hand one for £5000, with a shower and a toilet. The nice ones are prohibitively expensive (for me).

Can you just park it on the street, or do you need to use an actual campsite? I'm a bit worried about being safe sleeping in a van on a side street in the middle of town!

      @Tanni

I park it anywhere :) because it's just a transit van, from the outside nobody would expect it to be a camper on the inside.

I was EXTREMELY lucky and bought my van for £1,500! It was in great condition - though after being sat in ten foot of snow in Switzerland for two months, it got pretty rusty :-/

I've bought new panels for it, but it's going to cost over £1000 to have them welded on and sprayed.

Just out of interest, where in the UK are you? Obviously you don't have to tell me. :) I was just thinking if you were close, I could show you the van.

      Wow, bargain!

I'm way way way down in the South West, so quite a way from you! (I believe you mentioned on the Photo Album thread that you were from Suffolk). I saw your van conversion pictures in there though and it looks amazing, very impressive. I'm totally envious of your lifestyle camping out in snow in Switzerland :)

Do you feel safe sleeping on the street in the van? You haven't had anyone try to break in or anything? That's the one thing that's putting me off...
