My tinnitus just keeps getting worse. I know that sound can change but these seem like an odd combination. I haven't read of anyone having T that sounds like this. If yours does let me know. My whole head is vibrating from this washing machine. It feels and sounds like something is going to explode in there. My hearing is still in that normal range. I'm not even freaking out about it any more but it doesn't matter.

You have both of those sounds? The whistling Morse code too? Mine just keeps getting worse. I didn't start out with these sounds at all. The low one was every now and then. Now it's been there in one of its various forms for days. Is your low one really loud too? Sometimes mine is like a generator or thunderstorm literally in my head.

I have few more sounds but they don't bother me at the moment. Engine noise getting worse has taken my already bad situation to a completely new level.
My head is filled with this low hum, vibration and the feeling my brain is shaking.
I'm really sorry to hear you suffer with it too.

      @valeri

I'm sorry for you too. Sometimes I can't even believe this is real. I get the vibrating head thing too. Between that, the whistling that keeps getting louder, and the pulsatile sounds, it feels like something is going to explode. Mine has jumped up exponentially in terribleness lately too. What is your T from?

My low tone was also every now and then, but it's becoming more frequent. It had gone away for a while, and somehow decided to come back a couple of days ago. It doesn't bother me much during the day - only when it's "quiet".

That's how mine started out. It seems to be making a home for itself now.

@Jkph75 my goodness! I really can't believe all this is happening to you!
I had a low drone at the start of my tinnitus that lasted a week. It was awful as I felt it vibrating too and my right ear felt full. Was physically very uncomfortable.
I hope things just settle for you.
I really admire your strength given you also have a young family to care for.

I had a drone in my ears and all in my head and could not focus or concentrate on anything and still has really high pitch ringing in my ears.
I really struggled to cope and impacted on my mood so bad.
My doctor decided try me on Nortryptaline and it's stopped the drone and head tinnitus and sleeping well now.
Still have the really high tinnitus in both ears but think that's come down a notch.
So happy my doctor put me on it.
Still waiting see audiology and my Menieres consultant but I'm doing loads better.
Last year was hard with losing my dad on top so this year I'm looking forward to a better year.
      Lots of love glynis

Don't know for sure. The only thing that makes sense with all of my symptoms is Meniere's Disease. Do you have hearing loss? I'm surprised that you could get it from a cold. This seems like an inner ear thing.

So glad that you are feeling better. You definitely deserve some relief. Just had a question for you. Did you find that your tinnitus got progressively worse even before you lost a significant amount of hearing? Or did the tinnitus just get worse as your hearing got worse?

Thanks. I struggled to have my children. It took me 6 years to have my first one. Just wish I could fully enjoy my time with them instead of struggling to hear and wondering when I'll be totally deaf. On the other hand, I guess these things force us to make the best of the time we have.

No hearing loss in the affected ear.
I'm not sure what it is but it can't be fixed, whatever the cause.
      At least in my case.

      Great news!
I wonder if the same meds could help me.
How long did you have the drone noise for?
      Was it constant or occasional?

Drones usually have a poor battery life, just wait a little bit more ;)

High pitched tones in left ear. Low drone in right ear along with morse code T. Occasional pulsatile drone at night which makes my heart beat sound like a bass drum. You gotta laugh. There's not much can be done other than occasional meds for sleep and wine/beer in moderate amounts. Am trying the 5:2 fasting regime to see if that helps in any way. Just started yesterday so not much effect apart from hunger :)

Did your dr's give you any idea what the cause of your drone was? My hearing still normal but this drone is so loud! It's really unbelievable how loud it is. It used to cover up my higher pitch which is really not high somewhere between 1000hz and 2000hz. Now the higher one just as loud!
