I purchased the Garden of Life Perfect Food Super Green Food Formula. Better than Garden of Life is Amazing Grass Super Green Food (but Swanson only had it in Berry flavor, and, I mean, ick!).

The Uddo's Essential Fatty Acids is pricey, but you want the liquid. It's worth it, methinks.

The whey protein you want to make sure you get pure whey. You really do not want any sweeteners, artificial or otherwise. I chose Swanson Premium Whey Powder. 36.5 ounces. I prefer unflavored, but they only had vanilla flavored. I chose this particular one because the vanilla flavoring in their whey does not include any sweeteners. It is vanilla flavored from real vanilla extract, so nothing artificial in there that would spike the blood sugars, etc.

Stabilized Rice Bran Powder - this Swanson place is the ONLY place I have been able to find it! Not even Whole Foods market had it. It's Stabilized Rice Bran Complex, powder, costs about 10.00, and is buy one get one free.

The Coconut Milk you get at your local grocery store. This is not Coconut Water, though. Coconut milk is super good for the body. I do not buy the Coconut Milk in the can. I buy it in the carton (where Soy milk is usually sold). The health benefits of coconut milk are just astounding!

Coconut milk can be high in calories, ladies, so if you're watching your figure you might want to use 1/4 cup of coconut milk, and 1/2 cup of water. However, 1/2 cup coconut milk and 1/4 cup water makes for a deliciously creamy shake!

I wouldn't think you would want anything with guarana or gingko, because even though they are natural supplements, they are stimulants. My thing right now (mind you, this is a theory I am working on) is to calm the body, not excite it. Apparently, my body is not happy with the excitement. LOL

Okay. Guys, this is week 3. No tinnitus. No ocean. No roaring. I had two high pitch rings in three weeks, both of which came for a second, and then went away. Nothing since.

      Fingers Crossed!!!!

      Keep me posted!

Thank you Roan ! Can't wait to order the stuff as soon as I'm home on the 30th of June. Hmmm you maybe right about Ginko...last 5 days I was taking only b12 and cod liver oil, and T volume remained much low, today I don't know what possessed me to take Ginko again and T has spiked, it has to be the Ginko, because I did not eat or do anything else differently. My Chinese naturopath says T is the ' fire ' from the kidneys, which travels up into the ears , so have to keep the fire in check ! Very happy for you Roan, may it continue to work for you xx. Thanks once again.

      Hi, everyone,

Roan -- Thank you for sharing this formula, and I am glad it is continuing to work for you. That gives us all hope!

Sherri--- I know what you mean about the gingko. I tried it more than once, in the hope that it would help, and I even tried one called GingkGold. The gingko products seemed to work at first, but a couple days later, my tinnitus spiked, too. I think your Chinese naturopath is right on target when he/she says it is the "fire" element. We need to tone it down, not rev it up!

I had that same problem with vinpocetine. At first, it seemed to be working, but then I experienced a really bad spike, so I had to discontinue taking it.

So far, the spirulina alone is helping me. I am now up to 6 tablets per day. It is a "green food" and seems to keep things calm. I think you're onto something!

      Take care,
      Karen

      @jazz,
Are you going to try the green food, coconut milk, etc? I'll be interested to hear how each of you fares with this formula. I'm currently doing a smoothie each morning with whey protein, almond milk, flaxseed, and frozen fruit, so I thought I'd wait and see if the above formula is helpful to others.

If you decide to try it, I hope you'll give us an update how it is working for you!

      Hi everyone!!

Kat -- I know exactly what you mean! ANY reduction in the noise is welcome! Brings a whole new meaning to "silence is golden," and, man they weren't kidding! It's interesting at this point, because used to be certain noises would cause me some fair discomfort. I've said it here before, but one of my main sources of irritation was the flushing of a toilet - especially one of those industrial ones with the real power behind them. Whenever I flushed a toilet, or was in the bathroom when one flushed, it seemed like it reverberated through my whole head! Ugh!!

If anyone else tries the shakes, please report the results. I didn't much like the idea of thinking I would spend $75 a month to get this thing under control. But, sometimes I would be so desperate for peace that I thought I would pay anything. $75 is a small price to pay for the quiet.

I have also heard that bee pollen can be good for tinnitus. I am not messing around with my formula just yet. I am going to keep the shakes up for one month, and then add some exercise with the shakes in month two. I have already added a more clean way of eating, significantly upping the fruits and vegetables and water intake, and significantly lowering stimulants and alcohol.

In month three, if all is still successful, maybe I will try to add some bee pollen. Says it has a myriad of health benefits.

I love this site. I am so glad I found it. I am the only person I know (IRL) with tinnitus, and it is so good to visit with other people who understand what it's like!!

Hi everyone, yes Roan, I'll be trying the shakes and everything else you've mentioned. Thank you Karen for the Spirulina tip, will be buying some tomorrow. I'm also drinking lots of water all day long, first time in my life, T has been better except for the one day of spike probably due to Ginko. I know what you mean Roan , I don't know anyone else with T, and this forum and you and Karen are my life savers. xx

Hi! Roan, just wanted to see if we could get your opinion on why you say "Better than Garden of Life is Amazing Grass Super Green Food". Is it because of taste, ingredients, price?! Did you have equally positive results with both? :) Also, has anyone tried Melatonin (sorry if it's somewhere in our threads and I missed that talk!)? My dr. said there has been some positive results by using this supplement. 4mg at night.

      Karen,

Hi. Sorry it took a while to answer this; for some reason, I missed this thread on my alerts! :(

I am ordering the green food today! :) Will try it for two or three weeks before adding anything else. For the last three weeks--unless I eat something that causes me to spike--my tinnitus has settled into a pattern of three good days and one bad. This makes me happy, but I'd like to increase the good days. My bad days are terrible, and I am unable to work when they arrive.

Because of my cycling, it's hard for me to try new supplements. It takes a while before I know if the supplement disagrees with me or if it's just my cycle. And so I'm glad I appear to be settling into a pattern. Who knows if it will last.

      Jazz,

That's great! I hope the green food formula will work for you. Do keep us posted on how it's working for you.

Maybe having a cyclical pattern for your tinnitus is a good thing. Let's hope it lasts, and that it means better things for you in the future.

Mine has a pattern, too, but it's a daily pattern. Every day is the same --- my tinnitus starts out calm and bearable in the morning. By afternoon, it is low to moderate; then, by late afternoon, it is not so good. I can hear the pulsating all day and all night long, but the ringing, at least, is cyclical.

Here's hoping you can notice some improvement in your bad days after you've been taking the green food formula for awhile!

Good morning, Kat! The Amazing Grass Super Green Food has more of the seaweed component in it, but I have had the same result with the Garden of Life, and the price is the same regardless which one you buy. I just notice that the Amazing Grass has some ingredients in it that Garden of Life does not have.

I do not use Melatonin because it makes me groggy. But, my mother uses it. She does have tinnitus. She just has difficulty sleeping through the night. She loves the stuff.

Okay, guys. So, I started my first quarter at court reporting school, and I work a full-time job in a stressful law firm (I saw this to say that I have added to my stress level, which I have read can complicate tinnitus).

I am still doing the shakes every day, and I am still concentrating on deep breathing for stress management and to control better my nervous system. Other than adding the fruits and more veggies to my normal meals, and cutting out fast food, I still eat the same (meaning that I eat meatloaf, etc, and not fat free or diet or anything).

      This is week FOUR!

      ONE FULL MONTH!!!!!

      whoooo hooooooo!!!!!!!

Hello everyone. Hope you're all doing well. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Today I got around to finally ordering the Supergreens
And it seems like two of the products are restricted in Canada , arghhh. Lady on the phone said I would need to talk to a product specialist and maybe the can recommend a substitute. As its Sunday night, product specialists were not available, I'll call tomorrow morning. How are you all doing ? Xoxx

      Hi, @Sherri,

I'm doing OK. The spirulina hasn't made much difference in my tinnitus, but I'll keep trying different things until I find something that works. Hope you're doing better now, and that your tinnitus is not continuing to spike.

      Take care!

Hi Karen, good to hear from you, sorry to hear that Spirulina hasn't made much difference yet for you, same here, had been taking Spirulina for a while. Unfortunately the Supergreens that Roan mentioned, I couldn't order quite a few as Canada restricts products with Probiotics :( I talked to their product specialist today and she recommended some substitute, I'll order tonight, also hope to write to John of God soon. Yes sadly the T does spike now And then, but I guess I'm getting better at handling the stress, sigh. Take Karen , and do keep in touch.will update on what products I ordered.

      Hi, @Sherri,

I hope the substitute for Supergreens works for you. Good luck!

My tinnitus, as I've mentioned before, has gotten a lot calmer. However, I do still have spikes. Yesterday, my tinnitus was not so good, because I had insomnia the night before. That definitely affects the tinnitus (in a bad way) for me!

Take care, and you keep in touch, too. I'm glad you're able to handle the stress better; that will, in the long run, result in calmer tinnitus -- at least it has, in my experience.

      Best wishes,
      Karen

Hello Karen how are you ? I hope your T spike is all gone. Mine has spiked today in a really bad way :( because I think yesterday I ate a lot of ice cream after a very long time ! Must be the sugar and some icy food. Hoping the spikes gone by tomorrow. I did order some of the stuff Roan suggested, not sure when I'll receive them as I live in a very remote part of Canada, also tomorrow I'm going to finally write to John of God and ask for the herbs which is taken during the healing session. Will keep you updated ! Take care.

      Hi, Sherry,

I'm sorry you had a bad spike yesterday! It's hard to pinpoint what might be the cause of our spikes, but you may be right about the spicy food and sugar. It never hurts to follow a simple diet (most of the time, anyway!).

I hope the natural items you ordered arrive soon, and hope they will work for you. Please keep me posted on how you're doing. I haven't tried any new supplements lately. The things I'm taking (vitamins B-12 and D-3, fish oil, magnesium, occasional zinc tablets, COQ10, and melatonin combo for sleep) seem to be working for me. My tinnitus isn't gone by any means, but it is pretty calm most of the time, except for late afternoon/early evening.

      Take care!

      Hello Karen

Thank you so much for your message. None of the supplements seemed to be working for me, or maybe I was taking just too many at one time, I really don't know, then I stopped all and have been taking only 2 lipo flavonoid pills everyday and the T was much calmer
All this time, just today again it spiked grrrr I have no clue why, maybe the 3 wheat salty crackers I had last night, sigh who knows !
I have been avoiding wheat and gluten and sugar and salt as much as possible. My natural foods are on their way, the ones Roan suggested I'm tracking the shipment and am excited about it ! Also today was pretty exciting as John of God saw my pic, I will know the result either this Monday or Tuesday, by result I mean they will letme know whether I or not I'll need to travel to Brazil for healing, if not then theyll be sending me some herbs, which I have to take for 55 days, they say the healing starts as soon as John of God looks at the pic. Sometimes the money is returned if John of God feels the person can't be treated. So right now very excited about the natural food and John of God healing ! How have you been Karen ? Hope better. Take care xoxo

      Hi, @Sherri786,

I'm sorry you've not had much luck with the supplements. Hopefully, the new natural foods you're getting will help.

I am doing OK. Tinnitus is still there, but seems much calmer --- and that includes both the ringing and the pulsating. What works best for me is to try to keep myself distracted all the time, so that I don't think of the tinnitus. Also, sleep helps a lot, as does staying on a fairly good diet, with lots of fruits and vegetables.

Please keep me posted on how the healing works for you. I hope he is able to send you some herbs, so that the healing may progress!

      Best wishes,
      Karen

      Hi Karen
Thank you for the message. It's been very strange, some good days some bad days, keeping a journal of all I'm eating, eating quite healthy now, I think T is much calmer than it wAs in Montreal, but I still have bad days. The health foods that Roan suggested has finally arrived in Ontario Canada, I think I should get it in 2/3 days hopefully. My pic passed in front of John of God and he didnt put a X on it that means I won't need to go to Brazil, a entity named Dr Jose Pentiado was in John of God at the time.He has energized some herbs which is on its wAy too from Brazil by courier. These herbs will last me 55 days, one has to avoid pork, alcohol, red chilli pepper and some other stuff while the healing is going on, and I should also meditate at least 15 minutes everyday, I haven't been able to meditate since I got this horrible T :( hope your T has remained calm, from tomorrow I'm going to start the supplements you mentioned above and see if anything changes , I have been taking only lipo flavonoids and B 12, drinking whey protein, eating almonds, lots of steamed veges etc. take care Karen, will keep u updated, thanks.
