      any thoughts? i'm not sure if i'm buying this... these success rates just seem far too good.

      although this is a recent "study" - dated FEBRUARY 15th, 2016

      "Two separate groups were tested with the acupuncture point prescriptions. Both groups had an acupuncture needle retention time of thirty minutes. Acupuncture was conducted once per day for a grand total of eighteen acupuncture treatments. The first set of acupuncture points outperformed the second set by 30% with a total effective rate of 80%."

      "A total of 64.17% patients fully recovered, 14.71% had significant improvements, 11.76% had slight improvements, and 8.82% had no improvements. The total effective rate was 91.18%. The researchers concluded that acupuncture combined with ginger moxibustion is effective for the treatment of intractable tinnitus. The researchers note that widespread adoption of this clinical treatment protocol is warranted based on the significant rate of positive patient outcomes."

      I would take a spear in the head if it did anything , however , IF this is somewhat legit , where to find a proper practitioner that did not get his license from an internet course?

      It's impossible to judge since they don't specifically cite the new research. It looks like it may be

      Xue H. (2015). Treatments of cervical tinnitus between neck acupoints acupuncture and traditional acupuncture. Jilin Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 35(9).

      What's missing from the title of the thread is that the research is focused on tinnitus due to "cervical disorders" though it is unclear how they determine this.

      @RaZaH i hear that! it's borderline ridiculous the things i would do if i could be guaranteed a cure. however, what i found interesting about that article is how it actually included the specific points that were most effective. one could print those out and take them to an acupuncturist and specifically request those be done. i'm really considering this.

      @Aaron123

      True... either way though, if their results are truthful that kind of success rate is out of this world awesome (for those who have cervical tinnitus).

      Despite being decried as mumbo jumbo by mainstream medicine, acupuncture is mechanically similar to "dry needling", which is a conventional treatment for muscle tension offered by physiotherapists.

      To the extent that someone's tinnitus is being exacerbated by muscle tension, it would not surprise me if this could help.

      It's unlikely to be harmful, other than the punch in the wallet.

      My GP says it helps somewhat in 50% and I got a prescription for 3 sessions. I'm still looking for a specialist who would be acclaimed enough, but I'll let you know when I'm done. Can't hurt, may help. Since it's prescribed, I won't pay for this so I have no reason to think there was any private interest of my GP to send me for it. Any tinnitus is a symptom of brain disorder, no ? Anyway, I guess it's mostly worth trying for people who had their T appear out of nowhere.

      @Telis thanks for the info.

      i'm wondering... if you read the article i linked above, it has certain acupuncture points that the study apparently found effective. any way you could show it to your acupuncturist and see if he/she has been trying those? maybe we can get some good info... maybe not, but worth asking!

      It would be nice to try but finding a practitioner is another thing. Plus multiple visits and multiple $$$$. Unless you have some type of coverage

      I find this hard to believe. I know many many people who tried it for their T with little to no result

      Also this website and Health CMI are affiliated with acupuncture and acupuncture schooling so they have a vested interest in promoting acupuncture....basically just blatant self-promoting.

      Apparently, Heath CMI believes that acupuncture fixes everything: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/author/healthcmi/

      I tried those points, nothing. I don't think anything changes my tinnitus though, never had a low day or whatever, my T seems to be bullet proof. I will try another couple of sessions just to make sure but I highly doubt anything will change.

      Telis, it doesn't hurt to try another couple of sessions. May I ask if you are covered for the sessions or do you have to pay out of pocket?.

      Thanks

      Good luck

      Yeah I guess I will try it a few more times. I don't think I'm covered anymore, I'd have to check. I was covered up to I think about 500 but I think I passed that a while back.

      Ok.

      I believe everbodies cause of T is different so we just have find what will work to ease our symptoms, and as they say "what works for one person may not work for another". Dam frustrating though.

      Things I have tried,Some type of injection in my jaw joints,tmj splint gaurd. Cranial sacral therapy (I think its called) . Ear candling which I think is bogus. A couple of chiropactors...that just worked blindly and snapped my neck..ha ha. Was sent to a neuroligist..maybe he thought I was hearing voices instead of T so he sent me to a sleep clinic. Seen an ENT and he threw a prescription for nasal spray and said "see you in a month". I probably have more to list but I will add them to my book that I will write one day haha

      Òne day we will find what works

      I tried acupuncture a few days ago. -- Some people were sleeping but I found it hard to relax since I kept wanting to scratch myself where the needles were. Ha ha.. -- I will go again but didn't do much except stress me out that I had to drive 1/2 hour each way which means each session will take 2 hours out of my busy workday. -- For now, relaxing in my gym's Jacuzzi seems to provide the most relief (I know that isn't being open minded to the acupuncture technique)..
