Great choice. I thought they would at least end up in the top 3. But Eurovision really surprised many peeps with Måneskin.

First two songs are more Pop than Pop itself. So lets' call it Super Pope. Fourth one reminded me of A-HA. I think I liked the last one best.

Lol, @Vassili. I'm sorry the first songs made your ears bleed :D Hopefully you'll recover ASAP. A good metal song would probably do the trick ;)

Indochine does sound a bit like A-HA. The band actually formed at the very beginning of the 80's New Wave era, almost around the same time as the Norwegian band. So there's certainly a lot of similarities there

What kind of music do Russians prefer generally? Hard-Rock? Pop? Most of these songs you put on Tinnitus Talk have a unique character as in that they often sound raw and gritty. I would almost think that most Russians have the same taste in music like you have.

Cypress Hill on minimum volume would do the trick.

Buy the way that dude from my Russian Underground post is no longer alive. He lived fast and died young (44). True Rock 'n' roll looks like this, unfortunately.

My mom is a pretty big fan of A-HA, and while I enjoy them occasionally myself, I remember they were playing on TV and she said something like "they've become really technically advanced with their instruments, so impressive". I couldn't do much but laugh out loud, as I usually listen to black, death and trash metal. That stuff is EXTREMELY much more advanced in comparison to A-HA so I felt like she just didn't know what she was saying. However, Morten Harket is easily the most impressive male vocalist in Norway and maybe in all of Europe. And he has a seriously interesting personality with a very different idea about the world, I really like that guy.

Generally Pop and Hip-Hop, like in most countries.

Originally I am a metalhead, this is why my preferences in music have such qualities. Being a metalhead does not mean that you listen only to extreme music because I, for example, listen to lots of different genres, but still I can't say that I can listen to ANY genre or, as they say, EVERYTHING. No, I, as usually people do, listen only to those genres that I like. Because I like music and treat it not just like a background substance but almost like a living creature. I was in a Metal band for 10 years.

It's true! Rock 'n' Roll is good for your soul, but damn bad for your body.

Your remark reminds me a bit of Iggy Pop. That guy is practically the embodiment of Rock, but still alive and well. I was in shock when I recently came across a song from a French playlist on Spotify in which he was featured. You wouldn't even recognise his voice, let alone expect an American rocker who can sing in French.

      Anyway, hear it for yourself:

More advanced than A-HA? Mind your words @Lurius! I once tried to delve into the world of metal, but the closest I can get to liking a band is Tenacious D. And I bet you won't even consider that as real metal ;)

Morten Harket looks quite youthful, from what I gather on Google. Is there something in the Norwegian tap water that makes people look so healthy?

Also debatable, my friend. Very debatable. I'd say not that good neither for body nor soul. Telling you as a guy whos been there done that. Actually it's like a very slow suicide (like smoking), especially if you play in a band and try to make it big.

      P.S.
I actually liked the song. Reminded me of Johnny Cash's Hurt.

Morten has been admired, ridiculed and questioned about his youthful appearance hundreds of times here in Norway. He's just got good genes, it's not really a big mystery. My dad is 81 but when he was 60 he still looked 50 and now he looks 70.

Last summer I actually had a month of Tenacious D-listening on Spotify. It's not really metal, more like a metal-parody or "humorous rock", if you like. But I mean, I'm super flexible. I didn't mean that I only listen to metal, it's just that this is my main genre. Besides Prince, who is the greatest artist of all time in my eyes, I also really enjoy Iggy Pop. And Rammstein, haha.

To be honest, after I turned 30, I found myself slowly turning my back on Metal. I've grown up, I'm tired of it plus after my concussion it's just not the style that I should listen to all the time. But I do have my golden standards and they will always be with me.

Tenacious D is a great band. I'm also a fan.

Remember The Pick of Destiny film? That's right. IT WAS AWESOME.

Ah alright. TBH, I don't know a lot about metal but I understand why people like to listen to it or play in a metal band.

And how are things right now? Can you still play with tinnitus or are you trying different ventures?

I left my band and decided that even if I would've recovered, I would not go back to music. I'm done with it (also I've just grown up and I see lots of things differently). I believe concussion happened for a reason. It's a hint that something in my life must be changed.

Plus my ENT does not advise to return to singing.

It's great that you can still look back fondly of your time in the band. Those things will always stick with you, no matter what.

That was one great movie, haha. Those special push-ups and the power slide always come in handy in certain situations. KG taught JB well.

I actually went to a Tenacious D concert last year. The show was amazing and it was just a month before my tinnitus worsening. Here's a clip from Beezleboss. Anyway, sorry for the poor quality, but in my defence, there was a lot of moshing going on behind me. This is a one big reason why I should never become a camera man.

Lots of things to remember. :)
And the Devil part played by Dave Grohl was very cool.
Awesome. I'd also would've gone. I like how they geniusly created this Metal band parody image but people took it seriously, like a true band, like a small cult even. :)
      Don't worry. It's a totally ok video.
