I need to know if someone here tried prolotherapy for tinnitus caused by neck pain, muscle spasms, headaches, etc.

I've seen these videos by chance on YouTube and I am thinking about having those injections, many people on YouTube say they work like magic... So any reply here would be a great help.

      Thanks :)

@Nina Saleh - Not sure about prolotherapy. I had it done years ago but not at Caring Medical. I do recall it hurting (painful) but not helping my noise. Not sure how far up they went in my neck though. C1-C3 is usually the area that would potentially cause tinnitus. I was told only their Florida location has DMX.

Maybe prolotherapy is worth trying? I was thinking of trying it again just to see if my noise is related to my neck or try PT again. I have left TMD and HF hearing loss too so it could be multi-caused. Sometimes it seems related to stress as I have had a lot of that the past few years. It seems to be brain though because after a quiet day it resets upon awakening.

Like it said in your videos you should wear a soft neck collar for 2 weeks to see if that helps. That's what they told me when I called. I had called their Florida office and left a message and then someone called me back from Chicago. My noise is kind of a static hiss/ringing and is very bothersome atm. I may need to take a AD but am a bit leary of their side effects. I could try my WNG's instead and try TRT. It's a tough battle with seemingly no easy answers.

@just1morething I think it's worth trying especially it has no serious side effects as I researched online. There are two types of prolotherapy; this one in the videos and the other one is subcutaneous prolotherapy where the injection goes only under the skin. They say it's effective too and less in pain However, the one in the videos is what I want to try .. My problem is that I have to travel to get it done.
If you decided to give it a go please keep me posted with the results, I hope it works for you :)

@Nina Saleh, Seeing a prolotherapy Dr. today. Here is information from an email they sent to me:

      Dale,
I hope you will be able to read more about Prolotherapy on our website (www.drmarkwheaton.com).
      https://www.caringmedical.com/prolotherapy-news/temporomandibular-joint-syndrome/
      http://www.getprolo.com/prolotherapy-treatments-for-tinnitus/

I will give you an Estimate for what to expect.
Prolotherapy has never been covered by insurance in the past. It is considered alternative, holistic and even experimental. Dr. Wheaton has been doing Prolotherapy for over 21 years now with great results.
      Initial consultation/office visit $199 and Prolotherapy on neck $364 = $563 or both TMJ $214= $413
Each follow up visit will be $89 and Prolotherapy on neck $364 = $453 or both TMJ $214 = $303

How chronic the injury determines how many treatments Dr. Wheaton recommends. However, the typical recommendation is 4-6 treatments but again it depends on the individual case.
Total invoice could be more or less depending on what Dr. Wheaton recommends at that time.
For example if Dr. Wheaton recommends 2 or more joints, those joints will be added but at 25% off.
      A 5% discount is given for cash/check.
We do accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). If you use a HSA or a FSA credit card we can not offer 5% discount due to credit card fees. However, HSA/FSA checks will have a 5% discount applied.
Payment is due day of service.
Please expect 60-90 minutes for the first appointment / initial consultation. You may be treated at that time.
We can give you a letter to self-submit to your insurance for reimbursement of initial and follow-up visits charged. What is actually reimbursed depends on your agreement with your insurance, deductible and co-pays.
If you have any other questions then please give us a call. We would be happy to help you schedule an appointment.
      Thank you, gina

Well it was very painful. It caused quite a bit of swelling in both TMJ areas. I don’t want to give a opinion at this time about how well it worked. It was all cash but insurance may cover office visit if I submit it. They don’t submit anything. I think he does PRP injections also. I believe he said he will do stem cell treatments in the future. Don’t know much about that though.

I had this done twice, last year and the first time it worked very well, had indeed less T in the morning and slept better, but it doesn't last very long, at least for me.

Because I felt that I could obtain the same results with other techniques and keeping stress lower.

You haven't tried this treatment at all.

I have a facial pain and tingling. I have developed clicking sound when opening my jaw. I could consider getting this treatment only if @just1morething tells us that he got better.

Aloha to you. :) I'm really not sure on the TMJ prolotherapy injections at this time. It could be a combination cervical muscles, cervical nerves, TMJ wear and tear, etc. I'm seeing a surgeon in regards to my lower back Thursday and will ask him again about the condition of my upper neck. I have very loud hissing atm. :(

Usually TMJ disorders involve the neck muscles also from what I read.

      :(

You have myofascial pain with TMJ? And neck issues?
The tinnitus.... It didn't lower a bit? Or it raised?

Where was the procedure at the Caring Medical? Hausser seems very knowledgeable....

Wish you get better as well. Keep trying.

It was at Dr. Wheaton in Minnesota. Caring Medical is in Florida and Chicago. I'm not sure it helps. Could be rip off artists? IDK. It was straight cash homey (joke - Randy Moss). I injured myself with jack hammering concrete and asphalt the other day. Not really injured but wasn't good for my spine. I may try left TMJ only if I do it at all. I have HF hearing loss too.

Got you. Going again to Wheaton? Hausser seems to be very good at this treatment well at least he promotes himself good enough... Why not trying PRP for prolo?

Men I don't want you to be injuring yourself, take it slow.

Getting a second TMJ prolotherapy would be less than $100 (guessing) if I only did left side. My clicking/crunchiness is only on left. Dr. Wheaton did say to have about 3 injections from what I recall. I had both sides done at initial appt. because I was thinking of jaw misalignment too. I hope you are doing better @1000.
