I think there might be a benefit to T due to it's acetylcholine blocking ability (the lithium). For the longest time I have always blamed excess acetylcholine for my anxiety. I would be open to the lithium orotate vs the LDN.

Sorry, I know this is the saffron thread!

I added 0.2g of Saffron (strands) to my tea every day during the last 2 weeks. It did not change the level of my Tinnitus.

Sorry to hear :( I found that most times when leaving saffron on top of a half full cup of boiled milk and then mixing it a while later, the milk would still retain most of its white colour. One day I poured the warm milk in a bottle and sprinkled some saffron inside. After 15 minutes and shaking the bottle every 5 minutes, the milk became a stronger yellow colour than its normal white with yellow tinge and the next day was noticeably quieter.

Its harder to get the saffron out of a bottle as it starts to foam after shaking it and the saffron threads stick to the bottom of the bottle. I now crush saffron strands inside my cup with a tea spoon before pouring warm milk (not the most efficient was of crushing). After mixing, the milk turns to a banana yellow colour which I believe increases it's potency.

Some days T is louder than others. Studies have show that saffron should be taken for 8 or so weeks so I will continue to take it for the time being.

Its not as effective as in the beginning, still helps though, especially in the morning when I wake up.
It varies a lot more through the day.

      Hi all-
Just came across this thread this morning and read pretty much every response. I'm very interested in trying this for my PT. My question to you all: (sorry if this was asked and I just missed the answer.) What type of tinnitus do you all have? Do you having ringing or pulsatile or both? I have both ringing and pulsatile. I've had it for a little over two years now.

@RaZaH I was reading on another thread...that saffron releases serotonin and one must be careful not to deplete your serotonin levels... as I was reading , the best way is to use it for a week or so and them every other day...I'll try to find the link for you.. I think it was on St Johns wort talk.com ....anyway if it still helps a bit then that's better than nothing. Glad to hear from you.

Loud noise exposure / headphone accident maybe?
So for everyone, not feeling to read the whole thread. It's fair to say that this is not a "cure" but more a temporary help?

Just weighed some Saffron , 15 strands comes out as ca: 25 mg.
In fact my scale does not seem to kick in until 50 mg so i weighed 30 strands ca: 50 mg.
Scale should be accurate to 10 mg .

"Clinical trials are lacking to guide dosage of saffron. A dosage of 30 mg daily in 2 divided doses has been investigated for the treatment of mild to moderate depression and in premenstrual syndrome. Improved antioxidant status was shown in patients with coronary artery disease given saffron 50 mg extract twice daily in an older trial.Doses of up to 1.5 g/day of saffron are thought to be safe; toxic effects have been reported at 5 g .Death has resulted from the ingestion of doses of more than 10 g" Yikes !

In light of this I will be trying to increase my dosage.
Will start with 35 mg , increasing to at least 50 .

It seems to be a temporary help for some , and then it also seems to work a bit less with time.
      In my case at least.
The reduction was dramatic for the first 3 weeks or so.

I've been using around 15 strands every morning, soaked into worm milk for 20 minutes, for 15 days already.

So far the placebo effect didn't kick in.

      https://examine.com/supplements/saffron/

The standard daily dose is 30mg, used for up to eight weeks. It is possible that even double the dose could result in harm to the body. Further research is needed to determine the safe level of saffron supplementation. Prudent supplementation is advised until more information is available.

Change of plans, I am going to try and go without this as long as I can endure.
A week or two, see if i can get the initial efficiency back.
I might break and have some if it gets bad. :)
