Since I can remember I’ve always been a person who likes to keep fit. In school I was in the rugby team and rowing team before I got this “gift” I was at the gym 5 days a week, did a mixture of cardio and weight lifting, went for nice long walks, biked a lot, did boxing (only to keep fit not professionally obviously as my face is my money maker).

Since Then I have trouble going to the gym, haven’t biked, basically all I really do at the moment is walk.

My question is, what do people do to keep fit and has it changed since your onset of tinnitus?

I don't do anything. I used to go to concerts and dance, dance, dance. But I don't go to concerts anymore. (Thank you ear.)

I do eat healthy, so my weight is not an issue, but I'm not fit like I used to be in my dancing days.

Eat healthy - control your calorie intake (I use MyFitnessPal) and macros (eat more protein, carbs are good for gaining weight & muscle & fat, cut carbs to cut fat)
      Lift weights
      Do cardio
      Do yoga
      Do calisthenics

Literally exercise everyday. Off days are a meme.

I do resistance training, cardio and boxing ( not professionally, just to stay in fit).I don't have tinnitus anymore but I did train even when I had tinnitus for a period of six months excluding the first two months after the onset.

I’ve always ate healthy, never had an issue with my weight (apart from losing weight at the beginning of getting T) or fitness level. I just haven’t done anything really apart from walking. I was just curious to see what other people do tbh.

That’s great man, well not the fact you had T obviously haha but that it went away. Did it slowly disappear or just randomly went away on day?

It faded slowly starting month no.3, and then completely vanished in mid March 2017. You can check my thread in the success stories section.

Well in school the only GCSE I passed in was dance, I LOVE dancing, I mainly just rehearsed my dance routines all day to keep fit and I like to play tennis and rock climb, but then when I was 20yrs old I lost my farther to DVT which was a massive blow as I'm a daddy's girl then a year later I lost my partner he was my best friend and we were childhood sweet hearts and he passed away 5 months before we were going to get married. I then started having weight problems , James was also my dance partner so I stopped dancing and started comfort eating and I isolated myself from the outside world and went from a size 12 to a size 22 , at the age of 21yrs then after about 6-8 months after James death a psychiatrist I was seeing at the time said that neither James or my dad would want me to throw my life or dream of being a physiotherapist away, and she said I should try Zumba since I had a love of dance, I went and ever since keep fit with a 1hr class of Zumba 5x a week and love it now 2yrs after James death and 3yrs after my dad's I am back to a size 12 and have lost over 9stone in weight.

The reason I'm saying all this is in case anyone else who reads this and wants to loose weight that they can see its possible and it's hard but worth every ounce of effort.

So in answer I do Zumba 5x a week and am also back to doing rock climbing and also do martial arts. (My friends and family always tease I'm like Lara croft;))

I also eat really healthy, I'm allergic to wheat and intolerant to most grains. So I live a paleo lifestyle 80% of the time but I still eat chocolate:D

I’m so sorry to hear that Sarah. Losing any loved one is devastating and can affect you in ways you wouldn’t think were possible.
I like that your postive and taking your life forward, some people mock being postive, like to play the victim etc.... you’re not and this is so nice to hear, keep on keeping on.
Congrats on the hard work to lose the weight as well :rockingbanana: and keeping active that can benefit you so much.
I’m back at the gym now, I pulled my finger out and got my arse into gear. Put on some of the weight I lost at the beginning of getting T, which is great.

Another positive is that I can enjoy chocolate now in moderation and it doesn't affect my T;)

Tinnitus is the secret to my weight loss! I lost 5 kilos during my last spike.

I need to lose another 5 kilos for my wedding and find walking (brisk 90 min a day) has helped a lot. I used to do crossfit but gave that up as it was too loud, they really pump up the music in there!

      A football pitch....”
