Purple Noise — Can It Make Tinnitus Worse?

...when it's reactive.. Like something sizzling in a frying pan or a loud hiss/static noise. Super irritating.. And @Fangen my T is really reactive to certain sounds. For example, the television or car radio makes my T sound much, much louder. Also, the faucet in my bathroom, my electric...

    Can My Tinnitus Turn Reactive?

We all agree about what reactive tinnitus is, except @Michael Leigh. It does not matter whether it is a medical condition or not. This term simply helps to communicate a very specific flavor of the tinnitus experience, and not a very nice one by the way. I don’t understand the persistence and...

Reactive Tinnitus Tone Migrating to Other Side of Head/Ear

...My own theory is that the brain neural network basically is common to both ears. What starts in one ear eventually gets picked up by the other. My T ear is reactive. When it spreaded to the good ear, it is "somewhat" reactive too, but eventually becoming non-reactive. It takes time though.

I agree to. I developed pain H in my left ear a year ago. (no loudness hyperacusis). The pain comes and goes. When it’s bad I get reactive tinnitus in that ear, and when my ear is not in pain and feels a bit stronger I don’t experience reactive T. Hope you feel better @Emgee Reactive tinnitus is...

@Biaxca i would not recommend sound therapy just yet doctors will likely try to fit you with a hearing aid to mask your tinnitus and if it’s still very reactive it can cause more harm then good. Your ears are already over stimulated and need time to relax if you need some type of masking try...

Researcher Told Me Reactive Tinnitus Is Not Hyperacusis

@kelpiemsp It's all very difficult to explain because I have multiple regular T tones and I also have multiple reactive T tones that come up in specific circumstances. My static reactive T comes on anytime I have a fan or I have water running or I am near the wind. That one is not so bad. It...

Can you talk to a GP or psychiatrist? As someone with reactive T and multi-tomes, I would say definitely get some Ativan for this period right now. Who cares about having to withdraw a month or so from now, you’re just trying to make it to the next month. I would also discuss an AD that could...

Has Anyone Here with Hair-Trigger Reactive Tinnitus Had Dental Procedures Done?

My T spikes for three days after a door is slammed near me. It spikes for the remained of a day after I hear a foot stomp on a carpeted floor. It is very sensitive. I am terrified of my upcoming dental appointment. I know I asked this before and many people said that they had no problems...

    William Shatner & Habituation

@eldudebro , if you do not have painfully reactive T it's possible to hab. and carry on with life. Having painfully reactive T is a whole different world. Significant compromises in my life because of T is euphemism in my case. I cannot do anything anymore. Just open the faucet makes my T...
