Lenire is not based on University of Minnesota's trials. Lenire used to be called MuteButton and it came to be long before Hubert Lim started his University of Minnesota work with his device (that never came to fruition because he sold his soul to Lenire).

Lenire is fancy TRT in my opinion. My THI is out of scale (72, maybe 6 after habituation in 2004). Note the descending graph immediately at the start. You habituate. 12 points on THI isn't a big deal. Maybe try Lenire on subjects with 10 years of chronic tinnitus. That is probably another...

Dr. Shore’s was a double blind, placebo controlled study - the gold standard. Neuromod’s Lenire was not. Dr. Shore had NIH funding and a diverse study group. As Lenire was approved, there is no reason not to approve Auricle - a clearly superior device to Lenire and a superior study to Lenire.

I read that the Veterans Army of the United States is now offering Lenire as a treatment option. I find that remarkable. I just hope that it’s not a signal from them regarding Dr. Shore’s device.

Besides the shortcoming in Lenire's trials and besides the fact that Dr. Shore has been working on her device for over a decade, why does it seem to me that it is accepted intuitively on Tinnitus Talk that Dr. Shore's device is superior to Lenire?

Lenire and Dr. Shore's device are two totally different treatments. The studies were done very differently as well.

I can remember an interview in like 2018 where the CEO Ross O'Neill referenced those trials as a proof of concept for MuteButton. Those trials required somatic tinnitus.

Most Lenire reviews I can find that are not Neuromod-sponsored are negative, but that might be because people with negative results want to vent their anger at spending $4,500.

The Belgian newspapers do not mention that. They wrote that Lenire sometimes cures tinnitus. Today, this is all over the papers and radio.
