Persistent Tinnitus After Ear Tube Removal and Repair

I had a tube removed because one day, all of a sudden, I felt a shock go through me that caught me off guard. It went from my ear across my head. After that, I became dizzy and developed tinnitus and severe pressure. I went to my ENT, and they saw that my left tube was crusted over and blocked...

Tinnitus from a Very Loud 3-Hour Concert

No, it’s not strange. Hearing tests done by audiologists who sell hearing aids do not record enough data points or cover a wide enough frequency range to give accurate information about your hearing loss. You need at least four data points per 1000 Hz, and you also need to extend the test to...

    Tinnitus Onset After Sphenoidotomy Surgery

I imagine your tinnitus is due to the noise from powered instruments, such as drills and microdebriders, cutting through bone during your procedure. These noise levels can reach up to 95.5 dBA. The resulting sound pressure levels transmitted to surrounding structures, such as the inner ear...

Struggling with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis: Why Are Audiologists So Misinformed?

Pain in the ear is probably an ear-related issue, but a lower activation threshold of the acoustic reflex is entirely a brain issue. The central nervous system controls every skeletal muscle in your body, including the tensor tympani and stapedius. This is well established.

Sudden Low-Frequency Sound Sensitivity and Vertigo After Ear Pressure Equalization

What’s going on, everyone. I’m a 34-year-old male with chronically bad ears. I’ve had about six ear surgeries (five on the right, one on the left) since I was little. My right ear is the main culprit. I have a bit of tinnitus and occasional popping in that one, while my left ear gives me almost...

You should not use hearing protection during the drilling, since the occlusion effect will amplify the noise. I suggest that you discuss with your dientist and ask him to take a pause every fifth second. Also, take a heafty dosage of NAC and magnesium beforehand.

I’m curious about these tests myself. I’m tired of hearing about them from doctors. In my experience, the tests are unreliable and harmful to the patient in every way. The results often show that everything is fine when, in reality, it’s not. They end up blaming it on the psyche, confusing...
