Starting my acupuncture treatment in 3 weeks. In sweden there is an option to do it for free kind of, you only have to pay about 100 dollars per year, after that healthcare is free. Free but completely useless in most cases... However, there are some good practitioners too. I hope this lady is...
It's great that you are trying acupuncture and meditating. Still waiting for the outcome of the neurologist appointment. Keeping fingers crossed on that one...
I think you misunderstood if you think Dr. Shore's device is glorified acupuncture. 20 years of scientific research and successful double-blind, sham-controlled trials doesn't lead to acupuncture. Best thing would be to read the thread. You give some good advice in other threads but I plead you...
I have tried twice. The first time is when i found some relief for sure (they did full body acupuncture) and about 9 sessions of one hour. The second time i did not find any relief with the acupuncture sessions (the needles where only on my face), and they where 30 minute sessions. I stopped...
Hi Paul, I will give Zak Acupuncture a try once I am relocate back to London. Thanks for sharing. Just curious, what was the reason for your t onset? I am a singer also. Have also had to cut back for a while. I got t 4 months ago from lidocaine anesthetic up my nose in an outpatient procedure...
Hi tom, nice to know you had visited Zak acupuncture clinic last year.My current job is singer. I have been a sufferer of tinnitus for months and found them debilitating, to the extent of having to take time off work and cancel many events. Dr Zak Han Acupuncture worked immediately for me, and I...
@Nics2drescue I know it's been a while but does your intial spike from the accupuncture go away? I'm also doing acupuncture like every 4 weeks. The last time 2 days ago. Later that day I got this new sound (like an eeee above my hiss) and it makes me pretty nervous. Not sure if it relates to...
I went for acupuncture to stop smoking, many years ago, and it worked. I doubt that it can reduce or eliminate tinnitus, but perhaps it can be applied to reduce stress. Mindfulness Breathing, along with tensing and and relaxation exercises, can help to do this, as well.
...I developed hyperacusis after taking Baclofen or Tegretol.
Thank you for your prayers. 🙏
P.S. I forgot to mention that I’ve started acupuncture. It helps calm me, but it only stopped my symptoms for about 30 minutes. I’m going again on Monday.
My applied kinesiologist friend suggested that...
The problem might improve with time. Even if the treatment is effective, the body still needs time to return to normal. Do you have a routine for stretching and strengthening your neck muscles, as well as relaxing your TMJ? All the treatments you’ve mentioned (chiropractor, masseuse) seem to be...
Definitely going to follow this thread and see if anyone else gets good results. I am going to try acupuncture starting Friday and want to evaluate each thing I try on its own. My ENT suggested the acupuncture since it has helped a couple of his patients. But sonicboom2000 really glad you...
@tomytl How did you get your T? Let us know if acupuncture worked for you, I could also think about it but I'm not sure if it would help T that has come from loud noise... Although my T changes if I stretch my neck so if acupuncture helps to relax muscles then it could be worth trying...
I find significant relief from acupuncture. It lowers my volume within hours of treatment.
I also have cranial sacral modality as well which is equally effective. I would not go to just any acupuncturist/cranial sacral practitioner. Not all of them are good at what they do.
I’m doing acupuncture this Thursday. I am not assuming that it will cure my tinnitus, however I am hoping for some major destressing.
Did you all do specific treatments for tinnitus, or just aimed at reducing stress? I have never done acupuncture, but friends recommended to do so as for one it...
I have tinnitus for 20 yrs. but the last 6 months it has become unbearable. I started acupuncture a few days ago. Don't know if it works but I'll do anything now. Have tried vitamins, anti-depression medicine, etc.
Has anyone else tried acupuncture? I'm praying that it doesn't make it...
Hi, LadyDi,
I'll be interested to hear how the acupuncture works for you, if you continue with the sessions. I've had a number of acupuncture sessions myself, and it was calming, but (in my case) it did not help my tinnitus. In my case, the acupuncturist was trying to help me cure both...
Sadly no. Well, I've tried some supplements (Ginkgo, Zinc, b12, garlic and cod liver oil) but nothing like acupuncture or massage etc. I really should but it's hard to figure out who to go to without wasting my money. Have you had any luck yourself?
I've just started acupuncture and cupping to see if it helps with my tinnitus. So far the cupping has made it worse so stopped that. I'm trying Moxibustion at the moment. My tinnitus is from loud noise exposure.
There's a description of this point on THIS VIDEO at about the 8:00 minute mark. I do self-acupuncture regularly, and do the crown point 3-4 times a week (and many others). Self-acupuncture is super easy--and super inexpensive.
...There were more negatives and neutrals than positives and for the positives there were methodology flaws.
And I am not claiming Acupuncture is ineffective. I never made that claim.
I am saying there is insufficient evidence to back up the claim it IS effective.
For conventional medicine -...
...or a planted testimonial. I don't blame them.
The sad part is it's the researchers who could help us, but due to lack of - you guessed it - funding, they can't, when the money has gone to charlatans instead (stem cells, Mr. Mimbo Jumbo Jimbi Jam, laser, acupuncture, chiropractors, herbs, etc.)
I've read a few articles from HK newspaper mentioned trigger point acupuncture has 90% efficiency on tinnitus
Here's the article in Chinese http://the-sun.on.cc/cnt/news/20130418/00410_020.html
In the article also shows a woman in 30s who cannot sleep due to tinnitus and is now reduced and...
...a good idea, to see what your doctors have to say first. Then, if it seems that there is nothing more they can do, you could try the acupuncture. There are a couple of people on this forum who have had some success with acupuncture. One of them is Cookie; I believe she said it had lessened...
My guess would be no.
I've been treated with acupuncture on and off for the past 10+ years for low back pain, and for that it has been a useful way to get some relief without taking meds. (It's my understanding that acupuncture also has been shown to have some level of efficacy for myofascial...
...they'll say it's worth it. Those that don't get any results, or even bad results will probably say it's a waste of money. I've heard of acupuncture making tinnitus worse, but only temporarily. I've also heard that if a therapy causes tinnitus to increase, it can actually be a good sign...
...than my usual tinnitus.
The only exception is omega-3, which I’ve been taking for many years.
Yesterday, I went for a massage with acupuncture, as my wife read it could help. My neck and back have been quite stiff lately. The massage ended up including some deep tissue work because the...
Response partly taken from response to another thread about acupuncture and tinnitus - https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/tinnitus-worsening-due-to-acupuncture-or-clonazepam.33776/#post-472387. May be of some utility to you. Short answer - it has helped me over short period of time I have...
...He was interested in doing HBOT (I have a home mHBOT unit), and so we are doing a barter. He gets mHBOT sessions at no charge, and I get acupuncture sessions and training on how to do self-acupuncture in return. I'm getting needles directly from him, but you can order them online. I...
